I am very happy to have been contacted by the CWMUN Academy this week in partnership with the United Nations and invited to act as delegate for Ireland at their Paris conference in December. I will be a member of the Justice Team. This is an anual international event aimed towards providing geopolitical experience and socialising opportunities to those who have been identified as promising student activists and notable emerging young political figures all throughout the world, with an emphasis on Europe this time. It has each continent and country being allocated a certain amount of representation. Once I've finished my current college year and exams are wrapped, I will spend the next few months in a dedicated program studying under specialised international relations academics, mentors and diplomats receiving training in all aspects to best prepare me for my role leading up to the trip. Then finally in December I will spend six days in Paris attending various UN associated cermonies, panels and networking events. I am excited about this and will use my time in France to best represent my country as much as I can. I will take this opportunity to advocate for Irish interests, especially young people, promote my brand of Irish nationalism, further the cause unapologetic European pride, take in knowledge and advice from seasoned organisational experts from many different countries and backgrounds as well as hopefully meet some like-minded peers of my own generation from other EU nations, establishing new connections and relationships on a more ambitious continental level.
