My kids have lived in 4 different countries, visited a few others. We’ve tested different spots in Latin America. We’ve found some places that don’t work for us. We’ve found a few that do — and are therefore strong contenders for my family. Below is the majority of my research on the topic, mixed in with personal experiences I’ve had navigating this “LatAm Dad” lifestyle. nomadanewsletter.io/p/top-23-citie…

🇸🇻 Colonia San Benito 🇸🇻 Just arrived, but calling it right now… Just like Costa del Este, Panama 🇵🇦 is elite for families, this neighborhood in El Salvador 🇸🇻 is easily the best barrio for the single broski in all of Central America Absolute vibes Grab a studio in the Art Haus building for a few months = 10/10 recommend

🇧🇴 SANTA CRUZ DE LA SIERRA, BOLIVIA 🇧🇴 $40K for a brand new apartment in the best neighborhood in Bolivia's biggest city... → Price: $40,000 USD → Location: Equipetrol (BEST barrio) → Stuido, 1 bath + balcony → Size: 40m² // 430ft² → Price per m²: ~$1,000 USD → HOA/Admin: ~$64/month (seems unreal) → Brand new — never lived in → Airbnb potential: Equipetrol is where every business traveler and tourist stays in Santa Cruz Building amenities: Panoramic pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, BBQ areas, event salon, game room, elevator, and 24/7 security The gym is NICE 🔥 At $1,000/m² you're about 15% below the neighborhood average This is entry-level luxury pricing in a city most people can't find on a map — and that's exactly why the numbers work P.S: DM for link to listing...

🇺🇾 PUNTA DEL ESTE 🇺🇾 Let's dig a little bit deeper here... → You've got some pretty decent beaches → You've got a marina, islands, fishing, etc. → You've got surfing and watersports → You've got world-class steaks and empanadas → The pine forests around the city are stunning → There's 10+ international private schools → Healthcare is legitimately good → It's exceptionally safe and secure → Uruguayans are friendly, good people → Rent is pricey, real estate is surprisingly reasonable Then to top it all off, the "cherry on top" so to speak... You can drive an hour or so into the "Sierras" and spend a weekend unwinding in nature, hiking around the cerros and relaxing I mean just look at this spot 1-hour from PDE:

The southern third of South America looks more European than half of Europe Well, maybe not *more* European, but the similarities are striking - Bavarian villages in Argentina 🇦🇷 - Swiss chalets in Patagonia 🇦🇷 - German lake towns under Chilean volcanoes 🇨🇱 - Portuguese cobblestones older than any U.S. city in Uruguay 🇺🇾 Some might say, it's... Where Europe Meets South America

Two "American schools" in the Southern Cone, same credential, same college pipeline Lincoln Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 → $28,100 tuition (Grade 1–5) → $2,810 matriculation → $12,000 one-time capital assessment → First-year all-in: ~$42,910 American School of Asunción 🇵🇾 → $8,806 tuition (K5–Grade 12) → $700 registration → All-in: ~$9,506 Both COGNIA-accredited, both AP, both send kids into US universities One almost 5X the price But Asunción isn't the only city with great international schools for cheap 10 LatAm cities where the math works ↓ nomadanewsletter.io/p/education-ar…
