@BradJoyal @ry_storm Fair enough. You like to know where the song is headed and how it ends. Aka type 1 jams. But I saw my first shows in 2.0 so I came to love a band that would commonly jam 2-3 songs a night over 16 minutes, which many of them are considered best ever.

@JakeSilco12 @ry_storm Personal preference is my point. I would rather a show with the songs played N1 in Boulder with plus-versions of Tube, Roses, Sally, a mid-set YEM, Fluff, Possum, 2001, Rocky Top etc. just is a collection of songs I'd much rather than LSG/Wave of Hope etc

People are afraid of the truth Between Life Saving Gun, Wave of Hope, and Piper last night, there was a connection and level of improv that we haven't seen since Austin 🤷🏻‍♂️

@BradJoyal @ry_storm Apparently I’m also in the minority then.. If you like Phish for their improvisation and love relisten-ing to great jams in the future.. Last night had 3 jams I’d listen to over anything they laid down in Boulder. Austin and Pittsburgh are still the best shows of tour IMO.

Honestly maybe it’s just an age and experience thing, but Rick needing a teleprompter for the 30 songs in their rotation vs Trey and the 300+ songs he’s able to memorize without a teleprompter. (Except 2010-2012) (and only on brief occasions) is quite a difference

Probably the best Sports/Phish clash up that I can think of was the night the Blues won the Stanley with Phish playing in St. Louis. Also the Moma and SF winning the World Series in 2014 at BGCA. Am I missing any others?

@Harpoa1 The golf theme is my favorite NYE gag from the floor games before to the whole stage golf themed for the whole show. The golf themed tunes made me laugh while getting down

@JakeSilco12 As a long time Blues and Phish fan, this was the greatest night of my life. And I’m married with 3 kids and my wife and kids are aware and accept this. Lol. I watched the game from a nearby brewery and walked into Chaifetz a couple minutes before they came out for set 2. Amazing

@rubbertoe2001 Oh I have and I look at it a little like this: Hampton was fans that aged over the breakup and don’t think it was as much of a party as the return on NYE. There’s really no place like MSG for energy add on top then reuniting and on New Year’s Eve?
