What happened in the United game? I missed it because I was baking granola as I am a small business owner. United must have lost tho, at Liverpool, with their $125mil signing in the starting lineup. @JakeSilk21 do you know what happened?

Would hate to see my favorite grocery chain @MarketBasket fall victim to their own greedy, incompetent Board Members. Artie T is about culture, respect, and community… and these clowns are trying to destroy it once again. No Artie T, no loyalty! #MarketBasket
Howie Carr@HowieCarrShow

Here are the addresses of the Market Basket board members where you can reach out to them directly about how you feel about the removal of Arthur T. Demoulas and his associates from the most successful regional supermarket chain in the US. Let them know what you think!

Editorial: I Stand With Market Basket—and the People Who Make It Great By Jon Fetherston Today’s news out of @MarketBasket hits close to home. Not just for me and my family, but for thousands of workers and customers across New England who see this company as more than just a grocery store. Market Basket is a community. It’s a lifeline. And it’s one of the last standing examples of what happens when corporate leadership values people over profit. So when I see headlines about respected executives being fired, internal investigations, and boardroom conflict, once again, I’m deeply concerned. Let’s be clear: this isn’t about personalities. It’s about values. And right now, the values that made Market Basket great are under threat from forces that don’t understand what this company really is. I know firsthand how much Market Basket gives back. When I served as Chairman of the Board of Selectmen in my hometown, Market Basket was always there, first to step up during food drives, first to support our local food pantry, always opening their doors to community events and even to local candidates collecting signatures outside their stores. And I’ve experienced their values on the most personal level. My oldest son is autistic. Market Basket gave him his first job, and seven years later, he’s still proudly part of the team. They didn’t just offer him a paycheck. They offered him dignity, responsibility, and the chance to grow. For that, my wife and I are forever grateful. This week, two longtime leaders, Tom Gordon and Joe Schmidt, were fired for what the board claims was insubordination and inappropriate behavior. But many of us see it for what it truly is: a power play. A repeat of the 2014 upheaval, only this time even more brazen. These men aren’t rebels. They are respected professionals who helped build Market Basket into what it is today. As CEO Arthur T. Demoulas said in his own response, these are “two of the brightest and best grocery store operators in the business.” Their dismissal sends a chilling message: loyalty to the culture and people of Market Basket is now being punished, not celebrated. Let’s not forget: Arthur T. himself is the soul of this company. Under his leadership, Market Basket has defied corporate trends by promoting from within, rewarding loyalty, keeping prices low, and putting workers and customers ahead of shareholders. That’s rare in today’s world. And it’s exactly why the store parking lots are always full, and the aisles filled with familiar, friendly faces. What’s happening now is not just internal drama. It’s a battle between corporate greed and community values. Between those who built this company from the inside—and those who seek to dismantle it from above for profit. We’ve been here before in 2014, and the people rose up then. I hope it doesn’t come to that again, but I know that if it does, the same overwhelming support will return. Because Market Basket isn’t just where we shop. It’s part of who we are. Arthur T. Demoulas is a good man. He’s a man who leads with integrity, loyalty, and purpose. I stand with him. I stand with Tom and Joe. And I stand with every cashier, stock clerk, manager, and vendor who make Market Basket more than a business. I love this company. I pray this conflict can be resolved before more damage is done. Let Market Basket be what it was always meant to be: a company built on people, not power.
