Your best players have to be your best leaders and best example setters. If they don’t do things the right way, how the hell do you expect others to act. And…there is only so much coaches can do. At some point, it’s on the PLAYERS to know what to do and to do it! Remember that when going all in on assigning blame.

@derek_larger Pierce, that’s it. I’m fine with bringing Jones back on a very cheap deal, we saw how much his game relied on mobility when the fibula popped up, I can’t imagine he moves great next year with the Achilles.

On Anthony Richardson Sr., none of it matters until they open his practice window (to return from IR).
My understanding is that’s the next logical step. I am not sure what the hesitation is.

The Colts didn't sign Philip Rivers to sit on the PS and mentor the young QBs. They brought him back to start. Also, for those complaining about this decision, there were no good options this late in the season. Good luck finding a serviceable G or LB in mid-Dec., let alone a QB. It amounts to a Hail Mary by Steichen/Ballard. If it works, they'll make a movie. If it doesn't, it wasn't going to work with anyone else. So, just sling it and see.

@RomeovilleKid You don’t think AR could have had us sitting at 8-5? I find it hard to believe with him at 8-7 as a starter we don’t have a very similar record. Is his completion percentage garbage yep, but he has found a way to win. In 24 we heard Flacco and he went 2-4 with them, AR was 6-5.

They also missed the playoffs because of Carson Wentz. No way he gets a pass.
And if the “5” you’re talking about is Anthony Richardson, we can agree to disagree. AR had the lowest completion percentage in franchise history last year. DJ was second best this year.

With the schedule the way it was I’m not sure about that. We missed in 2021 because our Defense giving up leads and WR #2 was Zach Pascal. Daniel schedule was a cake walk. I think 5 does the well enough to win multiple games early @RomeovilleKid

Kind of like the Colts, they were 8-2 up 20-9 on the Chiefs in the 4th quarter and then.......3 losses. Sauce Gardner gets hurt, Ashton Dulin, Mooney Ward, Daniel Jones tears Achillies, Riley Leonard, Alec Pierce, Braden Smith......you get the idea. Riley Leonard came in with a knee injury this morning, Steichen says. Colts are working through it, that's all we're getting on that at this point.
Richardson's situation hasn't changed. Won't be activated this week, per Steichen. From the sounds of it, he's still not cleared.

@atioberoi I still think with AR, from what I saw in the preseason (higher comp % than Jones) we would be sitting around 7-3 at the worst, might lose that Denver game. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad Jones hits the layups, but I miss AR and his home-run ability.
