Last week, I was honored to host my Japanese and Korean counterparts, Akiba Takeo and Shin Wonsik, in Washington to review our progress on implementing trilateral initiatives from the 2023 Trilateral Leaders’ Summit at Camp David.

This morning, American citizen Tigran Gambaryan was released by Nigeria on humanitarian grounds and is now on his way back to the US to receive needed medical attention. We are grateful to our Nigerian partners and look forward to further strengthening our bilateral relationship.

Yesterday, I spoke to my Kenyan counterpart, @AmbMonicaJuma, on matters of shared interest, including our bilateral relations, commitment to lasting peace in the Horn of Africa, and building on strong momentum for the MSS mission to Haiti, including at the UN General Assembly.

The U.S. welcomes the opening of the Adré border crossing for life-saving aid and will continue to work with the parties to secure more humanitarian aid access. People are starving in Sudan - we will continue to work to end this terrible conflict.

The U.S. joined 22 countries in a statement & supported an @OAS_official resolution, adopted unanimously, in support of Venezuelan democracy. We urge Nicolas Maduro to accept the July 28 results & begin dialogue on a peaceful transition in accordance with the will of the people.

I was pleased to host a diverse group of investors to launch the Angel Investor Network as part of @POTUS' Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity. We welcome their pledge of more than $1B in early-stage investments for entrepreneurs in Latin America & the Caribbean by 2030.

We welcome Romania’s decision to donate a Patriot missile defense system to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses. Together with allies and partners, we are supporting Ukraine’s self-defense - and Romania is helping lead the way

This weekend’s summit was a critical milestone on a path toward a just peace in Ukraine. The U.S. will proudly walk with Ukraine along that path until Ukraine prevails and peace prevails.
