Young players are signed to their teams having their rights til they are a UFA. And when they are a UFA, they aren’t “young players”.. they’re in their prime.

@Jake_B_27 @ByfieldForHart Sure not every young player is set to get league max, but there will be a higher exodus of talent than theyd probably expect or want if everyone jacked their number up an extra 1-2m because they now have "Cup winner" by their name in free agency.

Both teams have set themselves up to be flexible in the future, even if they win. Neither teams are locked into big deals with older players. They’ll be ok if they win a cup lol
