I can't process how fantastic yesterday was. Five years of pain and dipping (8x) in various counties of this bird finally put to rest with incredible views of the Black-Browed Albatross yesterday evening at Bempton Cliffs. I've never been more relieved and happy to see a bird.

A new personal record for the @Team_eBird global big day yesterday! 153 species of bird recorded in 24hr period in the county of Norfolk alone. Absolutely exhausting but oh so fun made better doing it alongside friends in glorious weather! ebird.org/tripreport/512…

A very pleasant and successful trip to Taiwan and Okinawa recently with some friends 28 out of 30 endemics connected with. One heard only (Taiwan Shortwing) and the other Taiwan thrush which is famously very tricky! 232 species seen across 12 days. A beautiful country!

As well as visiting Taiwan we also tacked on a additional visit to Okinawa to catch a glimpse of some the wonderful endemic and near endemic species found there. We did exceedingly well and connected with all the main targets in just a couple days of birding!

Has anyone been to Taiwan and see Grass Owl or Tawny Fish owl? Trying to source some gen! Any help appreciated

Very enjoyable afternoon ‘twitch’ just 30 mins from my place, point-to-point! Night Heron showed superbly well, so went back for another look this evening and re-found it down by the canal. Not fussed by our presence….and hoping it’s well enough to survive this cold spell. 🤞🏻
