This was a perfect one episode story which was based on their history in AEW and a contrast between them. Darby is always ready to go, he doesn't care that he went through a battle against Andrade on Dynasty, doesn't care that he's beat up, doesn't even care if his World Title match is gonna main event the show. Meanwhile MJF is at his best when he's in perfect health, when he has a lot of time to come up with a plan for the match. That's when he feels comfortable. Darby knew it and this is why he challenged him immediately on Dynamite after PPV. And in desperate attempt to cheat and survive, MJF gave up his biggest weapon - Dynamite Diamond Ring, the one thing that let him keep the belt. After that he was defenseless and Darby quickly beat him... With Headlock Takeover of course. Brilliant. Just brilliant.

If you don't think that Darby vs MJF is leading into the most obvious PPV rematch of all time, you may be stupid, or just not familiar with how wrestling has worked for the last 60 years. Way too many ppl on this app who need to get over their fan booking headcanon.
