@ChristandGuitar @FatherChrisVor1 You get the typology wrong. Out Lord is what was inside the Ark of the Old Covenant: the Staff, The Manna, and the Tablets Our Lady is the Ark of the New Covenant as she held Our Lord within her.

Taking a “both/and” position is gracious, but it’s not what the OP I quoted actually said, the claim I see frequently elsewhere online, or the position in the other RC replies to this thread. I get the desire to be ecumenical, but this unfortunately backpedals from the original point that was being made about Mary as the New Ark.

Christ is the Ark. The RCC and EO argue that Mary is the Ark, but this misses the more important Christological typology, while giving cover to elevate Mary to a place Scripture never intended. The Ark of the Covenant was: - made from acacia wood and gold, which represent Christ's humanity and divinity (John 1:14) - held the stone tablets with the law, representing how Christ would be the only One to ever perfectly fulfill the law (Matt 5:17) - held manna, which was heaven-sent food given to the Israelites in the desert by God, representing how Christ is the true bread of life (John 6:35) - held Aaron's rod, representing Christ's position of supreme high priest in God's Kingdom (Heb 4:14) - covered by the mercy seat, where blood was sprinkled for the atonement of sins (Heb 9:11-14) - covered by God's Shekinah glory: God's presence (Matt 1:23) Mary carried Jesus for 9 months - a fantastic honor that no one else received. But we can't let this surface level symbolism overshadow the richer typology we see in Scripture. Christ is a much better fulfillment here. Fix your eyes on Him as the Ark and the Mediator.

@CoffinMedia @BishopBarron Sorry - why should the bishop publicly ask a question about a man’s personal sin in an interview that is political in topic? I agree he ought to bring it up to Rubin, but in PRIVATE. Since when is publicly chastising an individual for their sins the mandate of the clergy?

“Friends,” Dave Rubin regularly commits the sin of sodomy with his non-husband and the two of them trafficked twins together. Show of hands. Who thinks @BishopBarron will ask about this? Remember, Rubin also told an audience at a gay conference he thinks Bishop Barron is secretly in favor of gay marriage.
Bishop Robert Barron@BishopBarron

Friends, in a new episode of Bishop Barron Presents, Dave Rubin and I discuss the lost art of civil discourse; his own ideological journey from left to right; the cultural impact of Charlie Kirk and Jordan Peterson; and more.  Watch our full conversation here: youtube.com/watch?v=6Esvap…

@ShaneSchaetzel Or, unbelievably, use the Supreme Authority of the Pope to clearly declare that there are only two sexes (genders) and that Marriage is only between One Man and One Woman, and that Ordination to any level of the priesthood is reserved only for Men.

@ShaneSchaetzel Begin with clear excommunications. Declare them to be in error, none of this Latae sententiae. Clearly define marriage and rescind any document that even hints being permissive to gay marriage/blessings. Most extreme: convene a council. Pronounce clear doctrine and anathemas.

Pope Francis had an opportunity to nip this in the bud during his pontificate. Instead, he chose to coddle the German bishops with Fiducia Supplicans. That created the mess we are in now. At that time, I said the second German Schism (the last one was Martin Luther in the 16th century) will not happen under Francis, but rather the next pope. That was a logical prediction not a prophecy (I'm not a prophet). Here we are, 3 years later with Pope Leo XIV, and the German bishops are challenging him just as I predicted. The pope capitulated to them 3 years ago. They've learned that if they just hold their ground, Rome will cave in — eventually. So now, they figure Pope Leo, who said he wants to carry on the legacy of Francis, will do the same. Francis has left Leo with quite the mess. Pope Leo understands that if he excommunicates the German bishops pushing for this, he will set off a chain reaction now. It won't be limited to the German bishops. Other bishops in Europe and North America (maybe even South America) will follow the German bishops. All of this centers around Fiducia Supplicans. Those bishops who follow the German bishops into excommunication and schism will claim they are only carrying on the legacy of Pope Francis, and that Pope Leo is breaking with Francis' legacy. What we will see is the development of a full-blown schism, worse than the Protestant Reformation, because they will have bishops with apostolic succession. (Excommunication does not remove apostolic succession.) This will allow them to continue to ordain priests and consecrate more bishops, so long as they don't alter the rite or ordain women. If they ordain women, those ordinations are invalid. If they alter the rite, all ordinations and consecrations are invalid (like what happened with the Anglicans). Leo has to navigate this mess carefully, which is why he's going slowly. However, if he fails to act decisively at some point, with either excommunications or other severe disciplines (excardinating and laicizing the bishops, etc.), the problem will continue to get exponentially worse and much, much larger. He will need to act immediately after the German bishops defy Rome and not hesitate, in order to mitigate the reach of the impending schism. Failure to act decisively and immediately will only result in a bigger schism later.
Shane Schaetzel †☧@ShaneSchaetzel

The German bishops will not back down on same-sex blessings that mirror “marriage.” They believe Pope Leo XIV is weak, and if they just hold their ground long enough, he will let them proceed with the liturgical blessings that resemble same-sex “weddings.”

@IamNotHim777 @CatholicDeacon She couldn't have done that, but what she could've done is resent God and rail against all whom had her Son killed. Instead, she stood before the Cross in resignation to the will of God.

@CatholicDeacon Like Mary was going to call the manager and take Jesus off the cross. Jesus could have stopped it at anytime. This is very clear at his arrest in the garden. Mary gave birth to our savior. Nothing else

Most Catholics know Mary stood at the Cross. But the CCC# 964 says something stunning: Mary “lovingly consented" to the sacrifice of her Son. That is not sentimental Marian devotion. That is supernatural holiness. At Nazareth, Mary said yes to the Incarnation. At Calvary, Mary’s yes became a sword through the soul. She did not run. She did not rage. She stood. And in faith, she consented. This is why Catholics love Mary. Not because she replaces Jesus. Because she teaches us how to follow Him when the Cross costs everything. Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

When I converted to Christianity I first joined the Catholic Church. I ended up living for a few months at a monastery with priests, talking to them and learning from them on a daily basis. I noticed that they consider Protestants lost without Mary and the saints, and every now and then they would crack a laugh mocking their faith. Then I joined the Protestant church, and there I got to witness how Protestants consider Catholics infidels and pagans going to hell. I am not talking here about personal opinions of Catholics or Protestants, I am talking about the theology of both traditions. Even though the Catholic Church included Protestants in Vatican II, the sentiment didn't really change. I know for a fact that people who take the Protestant faith seriously would never step into a Catholic church, nor would they have spiritual fellowship with Catholics. When Catholics and Protestants do organize ecumenical events, they agree on certain conditions, on what can be said and what can't. Catholics won't invoke Mary; Protestants won't invoke justification by faith alone; and so on. Even within Protestantism, Baptists mock Pentecostals and Pentecostals mock Baptists. There is a silent agreement among followers of all religions that they don't accept each other's faith, and all of them know they mock each other behind closed doors. Why is it that only Jews are required to praise the name of Jesus, a figure they don't recognize as divine, and a figure on whose account they have suffered for centuries? Why do Tucker and the woke Reich go crazy every time Jews express their rejection of Jesus? Jews, as someone once said, are the only group of people demanded to be Christians. This is not fair. Muslims burn churches around the world every day and no one gets punished. But when a Jew does something and gets punished by the Israeli government, the world goes crazy. I am a Christian, and because I am a Christian I reject this double-standard BS.

The Daily Wire peaked five years ago. For like two years, I listened to Matt Walsh every day. Ben Shapiro 3-4 times a week. Andrew Klavan on the weekends. Michael knowles when the others were on vacation. I used to set aside time to watch the backstage events. They promised harder hitting journalism and investigations… not just breaking down NYPost stories ‘journalism.’ Instead they started making movies, cartoons, selling cigars, razors, and chocolate. Once they switched from news and mainstreaming conservative views to “Hey, buy stuff from us,” I knew it was over. I stopped listening, but kept my subscription alive out of loyalty or whatever— kinda always hoping they’d course correct. Their producers hating on Mormons is just the icing on the cake for me. The Daily Wire played an integral role in a weird time for me as I developed my political views. So I’m honestly sad this is where they are now, but it’s not surprising.

My abortion is the kind people love to judge the most. I wasn’t underage, I wasn’t assaulted, and there was no medical emergency. I got pregnant because I knowingly had unprotected sex, no accident, no rare failure, just my own choices. By their standards, it was “irresponsible.” I knew abortion was an option, and I took it. Not because I couldn’t survive it or raise a child, I simply didn’t want one. I wanted sex without becoming a parent, and I chose not to carry the pregnancy. There’s no redemption arc here. I don’t regret it. Nothing terrible happened to me afterward, no punishment, no downfall. My life is still good. And that reality alone challenges everything people like to assume about women who make this choice.

“TRAD” CAFETERIA CATHOLICISM: Picking and choosing how and when you receive the Sacraments? So @RealCandaceO was baptized two years ago at the London Oratory, were the priests aware she would take two years to enter the Church as a candidate? Canon 866 is pretty clear on this. She reportedly attends the Latin Mass, but for some reason did not receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in her diocese this Easter with the rest of the Candidates and Catechumen, but randomly in Rome? Is she even confirmed in the Church, or is this a SSPX/Sede thing? Does Canon 866 and Canon 887 not apply to “influencers”? (Let alone…proper disposition—which would preclude near-daily public libel)
