@ConcernedApe @Telominas Please consider making trash bear, theater, racoons, community upgrades, monster goals for enemies without one today, etc. part of perfection in 1.7! These seem a part of the game's core experience and it always seemed a slight bummer they didn't count.

I am closing the cabin for the winter. As part of this I have also collected together and disposed of six dozen flies that appear to have collectively died in a 48-hour span. Gross.

Great illustration why I cheer for SpaceX to succeed, even its leader behaves like a turd much of the time as of late. It takes some amazing engineering that allows this cost curve to be possible. Truly amazing!
Steve Jurvetson@FutureJurvetson

On the eve of the Starship test flight, a reminder of why full reusability is a game changer for access to space... While the industry is following the red line, SpaceX is on a different curve. Note: a straight line is an exponential on this semi-log graph.

@anpaure 100% agree with requiring this and would hope developers would view this as an opportunity rather than burden and be *excited* to learn how their users think and make use of their products.

@anpaure If advanced math and physics named their variables the way software developers do, more of society would actually understand math. 🤷‍♂️

@helloitsolly @thewritingdev The cost to implement every one of those items is probably at *least* 500k and two years if you already have a decent information security program as a starting point. On timeline alone you have no choice but to say you don't have it today.

@FlashShifter Congratulations on this milestone. I'm curious: how much did the design of this update change as a result of the new content in vanilla 1.6? How much did it inform SVE 1.15 decisions? Have a very nice day!

I'm excited to announce that after two years of intermittent work, Stardew Valley Expanded 1.15 is finally in beta. It's available right now for supporters on my Patreon. I'm aiming for a public release sometime in late September. patreon.com/StardewValleyE…

@Pathoschild @StonedGrapples @ConcernedApe Cool! There are so many ways to handle it. We use one sln w/ target-specific projects referencing shared class libraries, then have each target-specific pipeline build the solution w/ a target-specific build config. That seems uncommon; I love hearing how others approach it! :-)

@JamesDSchw @StonedGrapples @ConcernedApe They mostly use the same C# code with platform-specific changes (e.g. specific optimizations and tap UX on mobile), and transpiled to C++ on some platforms. Most code is in common projects imported by per-platform solutions, with some conditional directives.

Stardew Valley 1.6.6 is now available for PC. It's mostly bug fixes and translation changes. Full patch notes can be found here: stardewvalley.net/stardew-valley… Console and mobile ports are still in progress, thank you again for your continued patience!

@Pathoschild @StonedGrapples @ConcernedApe Are console/mobile based on the same C# code or recreated in another language? If different, are mod assets parsed the same, assuming no custom C#? Sheer curiosity: if ports share code do you share via class libraries, TFM-specific projects, & build configs, or another strategy?

@StonedGrapples @ConcernedApe Delaying patches wouldn't benefit console players, since (a) they'll get the 1.6.6 changes too when it arrives on console and (b) console ports are handled by a separate porting team so PC patches don't affect the timeline.

@michaeljolley Thinking about the interface you are programming to vs. assuming a concrete type is perhaps a bit OCD of me, but I prefer it. Easier to learn a codebase too.

@nuget Would love to see PackageReference for legacy ASP.NET apps as a bridge to upgrading to .NET 8. Secondarily, when a package is replaced by another, I would love to see the replacement package show up as an update even if it's technically a different package.

@Dyllypayne for one, there will inevitably be bugs that weren't caught before release, and those can be quickly fixed on PC with same-day patches. On console, it can take weeks to get a patch through. So the PC-first launch ensures that the game is stable enough for a console launch
