As Treasurer, I want to again express my sincere condolences to the victims, athletes, families, and anyone affected by Monday's shooting at Lynch Arena. Our CVCP team will be located at the Family Assistance Center in Pawtucket during its operating hours.

I’m proud to announce that, in partnership with General Treasurer James Diossa, Ocean State 2026, Providence City Council, WeGotSoccer and PUMA, we’ll be activating the Waterplace Park Pavilion as PUMA’s House of Portugal during Rhode Island’s Summer of Soccer, May–August 2026. This temporary activation will celebrate Providence’s deep Portuguese heritage, welcome global soccer fans visiting New England for the FIFA World Cup and bring new energy to our downtown, all at no cost to the City. As we close 2025, I want to reflect on all of the amazing things Treasury has accomplished this year. It would not have been possible without all of your support. We look forward to making 2026 even better!

We were proud to see Chief Oscar Perez recognized at the PC Friars game last night. That moment represented not just our Chief, but every member of the Providence Police Department. From command staff to officers, detectives, dispatchers, and support staff, every person had a role in the response to the tragic shooting at Brown University. The recognition is appreciated, but service is the reason we show up every day, for our neighbors, our city, and each other.

I am deeply concerned by the reports of an active shooter situation on at Brown University. I urge everyone to follow guidance from public safety officials as the situation unfolds.
