Very excited to hear changes to the draft Music Syllabus 7-10 from NESA via DoE friends yesterday. It sounds like a really thorough response that addresses all of the main criticisms in the report I contributed to. Doesn’t meet all recommendations but one step at a time!

@MusicOfLee Probably not relevant nowadays, but the first lesson we got in the BMus (Comp) at Exeter in 1993 with Prof Phil Grange was “use a ruler”. And everyone who didn’t bring one was invited to go to the shops.

Because there is regularly a lot of bad advice that gets thrown around regarding music notation, what is your one big piece of practical advice for notating music?
