Vascular surgery and peri-operative cardiac arrests with @RonelleMouton: -25% of vascular cases undertaken in a remote location -vascular patients are older, sicker, more frail and more frequently male -4th most highest number of cardiac arrests despite relatively low caseload -most occurred in patients undergoing non-elective surgery -41% were ruptured AAA cases - 82% were undertaken open -lower initial and longer-term survival rates vs. the main cohort -major haemorrhage was the cause in 57% of cardiac arrests -only 4% had a DNAPR at the time of the arrest -little documentation of risk discussion and issues raised at panel over the appropriateness of surgery for some cases -quality of care was judged good before the cardiac arrest in only 50% of cases @RCoANews @NAPs_RCoA #NAP7

The thing that interests me most about the Harry and Megan documentary is THE GOVERNMENT JUST APPROVED A NEW COAL MINE OFF THE BACK OF THE HOTTEST SUMMER EVER AND WHILE TELLING THE REST OF THE WORLD TO PHASE DOWN THE USE OF COAL AND IT CAN'T EVEN SEE WHY THAT'S A PROBLEM.
