@JamesRadio I remember attending the season opening game and thinking there’s no chance we make the playoffs this year. Truly an awesome surprise this fan base deserved.

The craziest thing about the Sabres to me is after 14+ years, one day they were great and that’s it. No build up. No signs of progress. No inching up standings year after year. Just bam. Great hockey team.

@MikeCanfield36 True. I just would have figured they’d sneak in this year, be better next year, then take the big leap later. This all happening now is nuts.

@JamesRadio Last year, Brad Marchand mentioned that the Sabres were a better team than their record indicated. Brian Burke mentioned that as well. I tend to believe that there were signs, but nothing like this lol.

@JamesRadio I took my dad to the Calgary game in Buffalo earlier in the season. We both agreed it may have been the worst game of the playoff drought. It was November 19th!

@JamesRadio There was underlying stats that they had pieces. Sometimes it was shots off the rush, sometimes the blue line was great, Tage had a good year. They put it together with solid consistent goaltending too.

@ErikEimiller I hate the heart and soul thing so much. It isn’t real. He’s been here almost a decade and hasn’t heart and soul’s them to be better. They go where the money is as they ought to.

@JamesRadio Why wouldn’t he be good for 5 more years? We have a window of contending now. Not signing a clutch, heart and soul leader isn’t what contenders do. He deserves a cap number similar to Kempe (10.6) & Schmaltz (8).

Alex Tuch might end up being the only worthwhile UFA this summer. He’s going to have so much money thrown at him our heads are going to spin. It will be the right thing for him to do and it will be right for the Sabres to let him walk.

@ErikEimiller It’s just not smart business to pay a guy 11m when he’s 37 and 38. If the cap rises at current rate, that’s still an insane amount of money for a player who will be good for 3 more years.

@JamesRadio Wrong move to let him walk. Pay him market value ($10.6) for 8 and trim salary elsewhere. The cap is sky-rocketing over the next 3 years.

Problem with this coaching staff is they’re too impatient with what works because they’re eager to do what they *think* works. Tage on the wing for example, which was always a bad idea.

The NFL won’t stop the the constant number changing because their goal is to bleed you dry. Remember, football is a great sport but the NFL is a bad league.
