Not that I tweeted much here anyway and mainly used Twitter for FPL related things. I have now pretty much moved that mainly to Bluesky now: fplmaison@bsky.social

@FPLfrasier My take on Rogers too, final action not quite there despite obvious quality on the ball. Though he won’t play Arsenal every week.

Villa vs Arsenal — I would say this was an even game. Villa had their chances, but they didn’t take it. Arsenal good finishing and Emi poor goalkeeping proved to be the difference. — Saka going to be a proper elite asset this season. Crosses look so dangerous. Can go in and out against left backs. Shot quality very good. Just the overall package. — Havertz looks like the leading striker. Great asset going forward. — Watkins subbed off again soon. I think he isn’t fit enough to play 90 yet. — Rogers looks great with ball carrying in congested solace. Stats for shots/key passes not showing up. His goal scoring record not great in his short career. Even though he looks good with fixtures, Mins, price, and positioning on the pitch I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t turn out to be a great asset long term. — Arsenal defense still elite. Playing against a good side away from home. Gave away a few chances but still kept the CS. — Raya 3 bonus with only 3 saves interesting. If his bonus potential remains then he becomes a proper asset even at 5.5m

#FPL thoughts GW2 — All the games I watched fully or the extended highlights Brighton vs United — United defense better than last season. But, it’s still not very good. Lapse in concentration, midfielders not tracking back during counters means United will give away chances. — Bruno still a fine asset. Mins, penalty still there. But, the team is not consistent enough to trust them. — Garnacho may come back into the starting 11. May become an asset in the future. — Brighton attack very good. All their attackers can be good assets depending on mins. Pedro, Minteh, Mitoma, Welbeck all look good. But, monitor their mins. Pedro moving to 9 when Welbeck is substituted is a positive for Pedro. Pedro on pens of course. — Brighton playing an aggressive style leaving a lot of space behind their defense. Any team with pacy wingers would take advantage.

Newsnight asking “is today’s fight back against the far right the result of the courts & police, or did it just happen?” I think there’s another option… Well done #StandUpToRacism , great work today - along with the decent anti racist majority in our country. @AntiRacismDay

Lovely story from #Hastings today. Shows that when we stand together we can defeat the far right: At 2pm today the Hastings mosque received a threat of an attack by email. They contacted SUTR and we put a call out for 4pm. At 4pm 50 people showed up at Hastings mosque. We are now having a meeting inside the mosque - discussing the fascist threat and the need to build a mass anti racist movement. We do not expect an attack - it was probably a hoax. But the turnout was very heartening. We are ready, just in case.

Just wanted to share quickly how lovely yesterday felt in Southport; a total contrast to the night before. 🧵 The mosque and people’s garden walls were rebuilt by builders and bricklayers volunteering their time and labour:

Made my transfers last night to avoid a 0.1m drop which will probably make no difference to my wildcard. No players ended up dropping that affected me…

@PsychoFpl Solid list - I see you’re a Carpenter fan. Assault on Precinct 13 is an unbelievably good film, generally underrated I think. I saw The Fog for the first time recently, not one of his best!

Now that the film World Cup has ended with the usual suspects in the final stages of the tournament, I guess this is a decent time to repost this thread from last year for those who are looking for inspiration for watching new and old stuff.
FPL Psycho@PsychoFpl

One thing I spend more time on than on FPL is watching films. In this thread, I will list my five personal favourites from each year, starting with the year I was born. I'm very old so this is going to be a long-ass list. 😆 I will do one year per day, starting with 1971...
