One of my favourite airfields in SE Germany, Vilshofen on the Danube. I love flying round this part of Europe. There’s so much to see that’s all within a couple of hours flying time. I could spend weeks down here and I’d still not get to see it all.

I just love the Balkans. The only place I’m aware of in Europe where an overnight stop in a Capital city is cheaper than most UK airfields. Enjoy my Heath Robinson clip……….

After last weeks Balksn adventure I’m now back to instructing with lots of check flights, PPL students, cross channel checks and a SkyDemon groundschool. #WhatsNotToLike

Another flying trip completed with 2 Private Pilot Licence holders. Broadening their horizons and showing them what can you can use your licence for. 9 days 35 hours 3577 Nautical Miles 1120lts of AVGAS 9 countries 17 airports 1 capital city landing 6 stamps in the passport

Back to instructing this week including completing my FI revalidation. Next big trip is arranged for a Monday and at 9 days away, it’s my longest one so far. Watch this space……….

The big 1st trip of 2025 went extremely well. 4 days, 26 hours, 11 airports, 668 litres, Avgas, 1 quart of oil and lots of fun. I can’t thank Meddyg Air enough for the hassle free hire of their aircraft for the first of many trips I’ve got planned for this year.

Day three done and dusted. Sarajevo was off the itinerary as it was just one airfield too far fit the day. Fuel stops in Maribor & Scharding and finally getting into Freiburg (with its circuit over the city Center)for a night stop arriving at 1900.

Day two done and dusted and it was CAVOK, a bit of rain and then more outbreaks of CAVOK. An early(ish) finish as we had get into Brac before they close at 1600L. Heading back up north today to Austria.

Day one of the 1st Balkan trip of 2025 done and dusted with stops at Le Touquet for a passport stamp and Reims for fuel. Roll on tomorrow.

1st of many trip to the Balkans starting tomorrow. 2 rough plans so far that we’ll decide on in morning once we’ve a stamp in the passport in France.
