Winters off. Summers on. Excellent service from @kwikfit St Albans (Hatfield Rd) who took 30 x mins and charged very reasonable £40 inc VAT for swap. Nice friendly team. Car has 25k miles but still has 5mm tread left on all 4 x original summer tyres.

@de_havas Some good recommendations there. Agreed. Scuff with a scotch pad. Then, degreaser/panel wipe/isopropyl alcohol at 20% strength. If it’s plastic then go for one of the vinyl based finishes like the plastikote , but I really like the look of Bulldogs powdercoat stuff! 👍🏻

I’m looking to refinish the light guards and radiator grill on my Range Rover P38. Any recommendations re the appropriate paint I could be using? I’m not after perfect but just an improvement. Thanks!

@de_havas I bought a 987, private, beautiful condition and history for £12.5k Loved it and obsessed over it for 7 years and sold it for… £13k 😎 Servicing and maintenance wasn’t eye watering either by using a mix of OPC and specialist That 996 looks lovely ☺️

Do you have to spend large sums of money to enter Porsche owner? Not at all. For sub £20k you can buy a 996, and for sub £10k you can buy a 986 Boxster S. You need to look hard and pay a premium for well maintained FSH manual box examples. IMS & RMS updates often completed.

My daughter’s Boxster is back to almost perfect. Bonnet repainted after lacquer had lifted. Replacement wheel bolts and new car mats. For the future she would like to replace the hood with a glass rear window, and have the callipers repainted. However, that’s enough for now.

@de_havas I always drive the older car with a respectful degree of mechanical sympathy. That said, I did bounce of the Rev limiter in the 23yr old Civic Type R a couple of weeks ago 😂 Generally though, enjoy it, but not thrash it for the sake of it. Stretch its legs gradually

How hard should you drive an old car? How hard should you accelerate through the gears? How hard should you brake? We have these two old cars in our family. I drive both with respect and never push them. The 944 is 40 years old & the Boxster just under 25 years old.

@tom550993 @WRCPAST Trophy seats are a HUGE upgrade over the bland Sunday market upholstery Cup seats though 😎 Sold our 54 plate RB Cup in around 2016 and at the last MOT it had only covered about 3k miles in 8years. No MOT at moment We bought for £5k, kept it 5yrs and sold it for £3k 👌🏻
