@WRCPAST

Rallying has a massive following and being able to see and share pictures from the past is something I am very passionate about. Also a huge car fan.

**Rare Road Cars** 🇫🇷 1973 Citroen SM 2.7L 78 Licensed and 42 SORN The 1973 Citroën SM is a grand tourer that blended French Citroën's avant-garde technology with Italian Maserati engineering. Produced between 1970 and 1975, the 1973 model year represents a significant point in the SM's production, as it introduced electronic fuel injection (EFI) for European models, designed to address performance and fuel economy needs.  Engine: 90-degree V6, double overhead cams, 2.7 liters (2,670 cc), Type C114-1. Fueling: Initially equipped with three Weber 42 DCNF2 carburetors, later available with Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection. Power: 170 hp (carbureted) or 178 hp (injection). Transmission: 5-speed manual (most common) or a 3-speed Borg-Warner automatic (introduced 1974). Suspension: Hydropneumatic self-leveling system (similar to the DS). Steering: DIRAVI speed-sensitive power steering, known for self-centering. Design: Aerodynamic body by Robert Opron, featuring six halogen headlights (inner lights turn with steering) This car was spotted near Tufnell Park London. Absolutely stunning car. 🇫🇷 ❤️ 📷 Steven Morrow 👏🏻👏🏻 @Citroen #cars #classiccars #carporn

@welshdragon1979 Yes I think they were going with BHP rather than times. The Cosworth was definitely faster 🔥

@WRCPAST i googled both cosworth and xr8 earlier, the v8 being the slower of the two, not sure which cosworth the results was based on though.

**Rare Road Cars** 🇬🇧 🇿🇦 Ford Sierra XR8 1 of 250 5.0L V8 216 BHP 0-60 just under 8 seconds. Meet the Sierra XR8 — a homologation special built in South Africa so Ford could go racing in Group 1. Instead of a turbocharged Cosworth motor, this thing packed something far simpler… and far louder: a 5.0‑litre Mustang V8. Only 250 were built, which makes it one of the rarest production Sierra’s ever made. Wide arches, a massive rear wing and that unmistakable V8 soundtrack meant this wasn’t just another repmobile with a bodykit. It was Ford South Africa’s answer to the performance arms race of the era. Today, XR8s are almost mythical among Ford fans. Cosworths may have stolen the spotlight, but the XR8 proves Ford was happy to fight the horsepower wars with brute force when the occasion demanded it. To be honest looking at the figures it’s not that impressive but I guarantee it sounded amazing and still a very rare car. 📷 Fast car and Fast Ford 👏🏻👏🏻 @Ford @FordSouthAfrica #xr8 #cars #carporn #v8

@WRCPAST My neighbor had a SM. As kids we were fascinated about the license plate behind glass and the turning headlights. Later I drove the CX. The trunk holded 6 banana boxes, the suspension was a dream. But there was always something broken.

**Formula One Past** 🇧🇷 Ayrton Senna In February 1991, shortly before winning his third world title, Ayrton Senna visited Duns, Scotland, to pay homage to his boyhood hero, Jim Clark. Senna visited the Jim Clark Room museum, signed the guestbook, and visited Loretto School, where Clark was educated, speaking with pupils about the legendary driver's influence on his life. Motivation: Senna considered Jim Clark "the best of the best" and a major inspiration, having grown up watching him. Museum Visit: At the Jim Clark Room in Duns, Senna admired trophies, photos, and racing suits of his hero. School Visit: He visited Loretto School in Musselburgh, meeting students in the theater and viewing a memorial panel. Legacy: The visit underscored the deep respect Senna had for the 1960s generation of drivers.  R.I.P 🇧🇷 Senna and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Clark 📷 @JimClarkTrust 👏🏻👏🏻 @F1 @McLarenF1 @blog_senna @F1_AyrtonSenna @sennatheking #senna #jimclark #scotland

@WRCPAST Only thing disappointing about this otherwise wondrous car is the slightly uninteresting sound at low revs. Once it’s revving well it sounds fantastic. A car like no other. French flair at its best

Grok uses Oxford data which isn’t correct. Unfortunately there is a reason the government likes to hide the real data. This is the Telegraph and it’s not even correct but at least it’s showing what is going on. The North Sea has so much untapped energy and Norway knows this.

🚨And there you have it. Sly News are finally GETTING IT! If Labour actually cared about reducing carbon emissions and making us less dependent on imports from Qatar they would do *MORE* drilling in the North Sea. @Ed_Miliband's entire Net Zero argument DESTROYED in 2 minutes

Exactly mate. What we see with the 3D/4D seismic surveys and the satellite imagery isn’t what is being stated in the press. We could drill now and have as much oil as was discovered in the 70’s and 80’s. Many predictions are even more. Unfortunately the “scientists” state something else which the sector doesn’t agree with at all. I will let everyone decide what reason that could be.

@welshdragon1979 The the Original Sierra RS Cosworth was around 204bhp so the figures are not that bad actually. It would imagine it would understeer with the 5.0L up front. Still be a great car to drive
