@gianni_cirillo3 @Adam_Drury1 Think he’s spot on with this. I hate using the phrase ‘they wanted it more than us’ as I think it’s often used in a really lazy way to analyse a game, though a Sheffield Wednesday team who is already relegated genuinely seemed to fight a lot more than us, which was concerning.

Ed Still has sent a clear message - he will not tolerate his team being “soft” in games. “If there’s one thing that winds me up about a team, it’s when you’re soft and not aggressive - it’s one thing we’re not going to stand for”🗣️ #watfordfc" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25932594…

@jxcknewark @louorns Very fair point, though, I would say that our only real backup to Giorgi is Irankunda, and I feel Castledine would offer a very different profile to Nestory. Think game time for him may be the biggest issue as he certainly wouldn’t come in as an immediate starter.

@Jameswgregson @louorns 100% mate, I do worry that due to our already good depth in options across the frontline behind the 9 that it could stop it from happening. Wouldn’t want him to come in and not play either - clearly benefiting loads from game time and trust.

@jxcknewark @louorns Would be a wonderful signing. Ticks pretty much every box for us: young, high-potential, affordable, homegrown and can play in the pocket behind the striker. Would be an excellent option to rotate in when Giorgi doesn’t play.

@louorns Joke of a player, working for Bolton this year and when we’ve played Huddersfield immediately identified him as their danger man. RF, LF all types of finishes, similar to Giorgi in some ways but slightly more end product than creating chances.

@Adam_Drury1 Any idea if it was the referee or Hull who deemed the sides of the pitches unsafe? Seems very strange considering the referee had no issues with the pitch itself.

@Adam_Drury1 The biggest fear for this season is that it’s a squad we look back on in a few years and think, 'how did we not go up with that much quality? ' Some of the talent we currently possess is really impressive, but it’s just so raw at this moment in time.

In 2021, Barcelona recorded the biggest loss for a football club, ever: €555.4m. Today, they still have the deepest debt in the world game: €1.45bn. Many others would have drastically cut costs. Barca have instead found refuge in ever more novel ways of raising money — while also driving phenomenal commercial growth. Here, in @CWeatherspoon_'s Special Report, is the full details of the levers, the salary limits, the Messi legacy and the annual registration drama. 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/67540…

@Adam_Drury1 Gutted for Vata; he has been progressing really well over the last few weeks. Suits Javi’s inverted winger role so well.

@BaitVic Honestly, the chances of your cartilage getting infected through injury is genuinely so incredibly unlucky. Heartbreaking to see a player as special as Geri suffering from such a horrible injury 💔

Didn't realise how bad it was for Gerard Deulofeu. Having to regrow the cartilage and working every day just to be able to run again. Feels an unlikely dream but would be amazing if he could come back one day. One of the most talented players we've ever had at #watfordfc 🐝
Nick Ames@NickAmes82

Gerard Deulofeu hasn't played since Jan 2023. ACL surgery & devastating cartilage infection saw to that. Every day he wakes, trains alone & dreams of appearing in Serie A again. He aims to make most unlikely top-level return in history. Interview in Udine: theguardian.com/football/2025/…

@Adam_Drury1 Think he might play a 3-4-3 as well. Reminds me of his second game coaching us against Chelsea where we played the same system. With how many good centre-backs and attacking wide players we have in the squad we’re probably best suited to this system (at least on paper anyway).

@ThomasJDesign We also run a significant risk of blocking the development of some really promising strikers in Kjerrumgaard, Doumbia, and Semedo. And tbh, do we really need another attacking player in that profile? Not worth the risk in my opinion.

@ThomasJDesign Completely agree; I think we can all agree that having a fully inform Dennis would be amazing but the chances of us getting that Dennis are so slim. Also worth noting that as good as he was that season, it’s probably the only real period of his career he’s performed consistently.

Have to say I'm not disappointed. Doumbia not getting in the squad, Maamma knocking on the door, already a strong bench every game. Another talent would put even more pressure on Javi and what we really need is just someone to give them all a boost now, not more competition.
Adam Drury@Adam_Drury1

🚨 Watford have decided they are happy with their attacking options and won't be signing Emmanuel Dennis for now. He's been doing some fitness work with the club and it could be revisited in January 👇 watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25541848… #Watfordfc

@DNSYE_podcast It would be really interesting for a fan account to do a poll as to whether or not fans would like Dennis back. Seeing such a split so far.

Everyone talks about Erling Haaland's goalscoring... but the gap between him and the rest is crazy. He's scoring 1.11 goals per international match. Of the 80 players to score 50+ international goals, that's the 3rd best rate in history, and hasn't been bettered since 1925. He's scoring at more than double the rate for Norway as Lewandowski has for Poland or Suarez did for Uruguay. His 1.04 goals per Champions League game, is more than double the rate of Aguero, Henry and Van Persie. He's scored 0.9 goals per Premier League game, more than double Ronaldo and Rooney... 322 career goals at 25... INSANE!

@JordanWiemer Could be completely wrong, but judging from his coaching history, I think he will play a 4-2-3-1, which in my opinion is probably best suited to our squad (on paper at least): that or a 3-4-3.
