I’d rather we completely transform the role of MPs tbh. Give them larger teams and ensure their focus is far more on parliamentary work. They oversee a team dealing with constituency issues rather than there being much direct engagement.

Actually I think Cooper could be alright. She’s got a first-class degree in PPE from Oxford, an MSc in Economics from the LSE, and was a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard. That’s one of the strongest academic backgrounds in economics among senior British politicians.
