@OwenLikesFilm99 @cjcreggswife People like the scene where Anton Chigurh goes into the shop in No Country For Old Men, but they don't like the scene where Tommy Wiseau goes into the shop in The Room - I don't understand this?

@cjcreggswife Meanwhile, in Sentimental Value, the characters also break down upon seeing their life's tragedies reflected in an aloof loved one's art. What's the difference here? Are people that reflexively bothered by the one occasion where Agnes loudly talks mid-play?

theatre etiquette didn’t exist back then! her son just died! her husband wrote a play using the name of her dead son! she in fact has never seen a play before! all of this would be terribly upsetting! hope that helps!
Cassie Pritchard@hecubian_devil

Still completely baffled by this sequence where Buckley decides to play Agnes—wife of a playwright—as an infant seeing a play for the first time, or perhaps someone raised by wolves being reintroduced to human society. It goes on for what feels like 20 minutes. It’s unbearable.

@hecubian_devil The continued insistence that there's some detail or fact of the scene that we're not understanding, when it's like no, I get what it's going for, I just think it comes across as ridiculous and stupid lol

None of this explains why she plays the entire final scene like a confused newborn. I saw the movie. I’m not confused by the plot. I’m confused by the choice to play grief in the particular way Buckley & Zhao chose to play it.

the actor is playing "hamelt" a character derived from "hamnet", her deceased son who her husband, william shakespeare, wrote a play about as a means of coping with grief and atonement agnes reaches out because she feels as if her son was right in front of her DONT PISS ME OFF

@bartlebytaco I think what people are missing is that, whatever looks strictly better or worse based on current fashion trends, the first outfit looks like the clothes that that guy owns and wears and the second outfit looks self-consciously selected and manicured

@MootIreland Soon enough I'd say, since his head seems to be physically swelling to such a size in his last few films that I can't imagine it'll fit in frame much longer

@ConorKeogh8 So is your sole objection to cycle lanes not that they take up space you'd like to see used for cars, but that they upset the visual splendour of Dublin city lol?

A cycle lane taking up half the road in the middle of Dublin City with not a bike on it. Another disasterclass from the people running this country. When do they take ownership that they’ve completely ruined the capital city?

#TimothéeChalamet says another actor questioned his acting ability on one of his films: “No names, but the guy was a punk. He asked what conservatory I’d gone to, and I said I didn’t go to an acting conservatory. He said, ‘Well, you haven’t trained as an actor then.’ And we were all part of an ensemble.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lGVPs

@elischoop Fun to see millennials hit that age where they're like "this new music can't compare to our rock gods of yore," but our Led Zeppelin is Mac DeMarco lol
