Garrett acknowledged that she approached the man—whose identity has not been publicly disclosed—at Northeast Park and Paw Place to ask him about President Donald Trump and his support for him, as stated in an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX 13 Tampa Bay. During their interaction, the two reportedly got into an argument. Garrett allegedly poured a can she was holding over the victim's head and struck him on the back of the head and shoulder area with it, according to the arrest report. However, Garrett denied hitting him with the can. After the incident, she jumped a fence and fled the scene. Police later located her, but she allegedly resisted arrest and fought with the officers during the arrest attempt.
