@dr_radiochris I just skimmed through it, but I certainly like moral 2: "During your PhD oral exam, try to get two of the professors on your Examination Board to argue with each other. You will get off the hook." 😂 (Unfortunately doesn't fly in Finland)
English

Morals 4,7,8,9, and 10 are my favorite!

Last week I travelled to the stunning Amalfi coast in Italy to become the 17th recipient of the Vincenzo Ferraro award for young researchers in plasma physics. This includes my PhD research in @CmPA_KULeuven and @ORB_KSB, and post-doc in @PhysUtu.

Wondering where @EuropaClipper is right now (or will be in the future)? solar-mach.github.io has it in the list of supported spacecraft!

Some years ago, I wouldn't have imagined to spent my birthday evening in Finland and watching #aurora! 🤩 And some 🌠 on top!

New paper alert! 🚨
This article 📜, led by Jean-Baptiste Dakeyo from @Obs_Paris and @IRAP_France, discusses the accuracy of solar wind ☀️💨 backmapping 🗺️. This technique is crucial to connect #plasma 🎆 measurements from @ESASolarOrbiter 🛰️ to the Sun.

@DVerscharen @Obs_Paris @IRAP_France @ESASolarOrbiter Thanks for this nice article! Good to see confirmation that ballistic backmapping gives an appropriate approximation of the streamlines.

@Jaxstax11 @UniTurku Gratz! And good timing, it's finally getting warm here. 😅

I woke up this morning to the news that I have been granted the study right to pursue my PhD at @UniTurku, along with the visa to get into Finland! The starting pistol has fired, let's go!

@halocme @suntoday Yes, it's possible using @SunPyProject. It's a bit much code to fit into one tweet. This image shows how it looks like. I put the code for copy-pasting to gist.github.com/jgieseler/8f6e…

English

If you still use IDL/SolarSoft, here is what I learned from @suntoday .

Is there a SunPy version, which could be simpler?

English

IT'S HERE! A major solar storm turned up just in time for Mother's Day with auroras visible across the🌍! Clear skies in much of the US and Canada, just past new moon, mean our fingers are crossed for aurora chasers! Please make aurora reports to aurorasaurus.org. 1/3

@dr_radiochris Of the winter, yes. But not sure about spring... 🙈
