@Miss_Snuffy Very amusing! But remember, the Apollo mission was designed in feet and inches, but Auschwitz was planned in metric.

@think_or_swim I'm excited to see Mayo there! I thought they were confined to the south-east. I'll look out for poles addled with holes.

Ok, so wildlife were here thousands of years, millions of years before humans ever set foot in Ireland, but surely that’s no reason we have to tolerate* them now? (*May contain satire) irishtimes.com/environment/20…

@RachelLavin €300k now. Still not enough to buy a house in Dublin. But he's welcome in Mayo.

More than 90 grand raised to buy Caio Benicio a pint in less than 12 hours, a sign if ever one was needed that there are far more good people in our world than bad ones. gofundme.com/f/buy-caio-ben…

This GoFundMe fundraiser for Caio Castro Menezes Benicio has gone from €10k to over €22k in the last 30 minutes. I asked GoFundMe about it and they said they’ve been monitoring it and the funds will “get directly to the beneficiary” (ie Caio) gofundme.com/f/buy-caio-ben…

Forestry Tasmania just admits to Tasmanian Parliament hearings that they have found two Swift parrot nests in scheduled logging coupe HP029E. We have too, including this new Swift parrot fledgling. This forest is right next door to the logged forest in the other image. #politas

@gunsnrosesgirl3 Imagine what's been lost since humans arrived. Huge lemurs. Countless plant species.

@whittledaway @ARKNatuur Mozart is the only wolf gang that Ireland will tolerate. Unless the Brits do it. Then we will slavishly follow and laud our deep green very Gaelic love of land and beast. Cafés and interpretive centres will spring up around the tiny wolf park, mugs and merch keeping money flowing

The Netherlands has a number of rewilding initiatives run by @ARKNatuur, helping the country adapt to climate change and boosting biodiversity. The country has 9 wolf packs!

@Glenveagh_NP Do you commit to no conifer plantations, no Roundup, eradication of invasives, deer culling, investigations into feasibility of apex predators like lynx? Because Donegal, like Mayo where I live, is a desert.

As we celebrate science week, we ask you to consider what it means to be human in today’s world. The decisions we make today will impact humans of the future. Our aim is to increase native woodland in Glenveagh National Park. We have been collecting seed from our native trees.

Some of the species in tropical forests are hyperdominant, others hypercryptic. In this study we discovered that ca. dozen species were hidden behind only three previously recognised species.👇 doi.org/10.1016/j.ympe…
