It’s Election Day in House District 23! Make sure to get out and vote for Bill Fincher to send a strong, commonsense conservative voice to represent Cherokee County in the Georgia House.

New Year’s Eve often comes with fireworks. In much of Milton, those loud, overhead fireworks remain prohibited. A state law now allows cities to limit fireworks to protect horses. Milton has adopted an ordinance that bans fireworks within 200 yards of any property with equines, including horses, donkeys, ponies, and mules. Because of the number of horse farms here, large areas of the city are off-limits year-round. Where allowed, fireworks may only be used on New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on New Year’s Day from 10 a.m. to midnight, and only if the location is more than 200 yards from an equine property. View the map and full rules at miltonga.gov/Fireworks. To report suspected illegal fireworks, call Milton Police at 678-297-6300.

Today at the Cherokee County Courthouse, the Georgia Senate officially welcomed Sen. Jason T. Dickerson (R–Canton), who was sworn in to represent the 21st Senate District. We look forward to his service under the Gold Dome! #gapol #gasenate
