@glowin_the_dork This is why in the ED where I work we often will discharge somebody who is intending to leave AMA after discussing risks/benefits, unless the medical advice they're going against is that we *know* there is something dangerous going on and recommend they stay for treatment

My “solution” is I just don’t take any breaks or eat on shift. Then I typically come home too exhausted to eat. Incidentally, I’ve lost 25 pounds since residency started 6 months ago.

@LizardbethArt @unicornthorn Albuterol is a generic. Nobody is getting kickbacks for albuterol. However, all of the evidence we have says it is the most likely thing to help with the problem that we absolutely know we have on formulary. Doesn't excuse these docs ignoring OP's documented severe allergy though

every. single. time. that i have to go to the hospital for my asthma, i tell them i'm allergic to albuterol and every time they're like "we'll just give it to you anyway + something for the allergy" but my allergic reaction to albuterol is anaphylaxis soooo...
