@CarlSherman@samuel_leeds I’m not here to decide who’s a non contributing layabout. That’s for DWP to determine who’s clearly not interested in working and who is vulnerable and does need support.
In the UK, my salary is £12.5K per year.
It’s mad when I post this online.
Everyone instantly rushes to the comments and accuses me of being a tax evader.
They think it’s an unethical, horrible thing that I structure my income in a tax-efficient way.
As if taking a lower salary and then being paid via “dividends” is evil.
As if me refinancing a couple of my properties each year to take out hundreds of thousands in “equity” tax-free is a sin.
No, it’s not criminal. It simply highlights the lack of education in how the rich design the tax system to help themselves win.
Nothing I do is “illegal”; it’s all fully double-checked and signed off by our trusted accountant.
@AvalonEndures@AvonandsomerRob I’m definitely more productive from home but after 10 years it’s definitely had an effect on my social mental health. I don’t want to be around many people in a room. I went from extrovert to introvert for sure.
@AvonandsomerRob I am more productive from home. I have that evidenced in my KPIs - where there’s a clear pattern of lower performance on my office days. Even if I put my headphones in, I’m still bothered by people all day in the office because I’m an SME.
Working from the office doesn't really affect my work but it hugely increases my stress and hours due to people scheduling meetings after 9-5, I can't just adjust my day for that if I'm in the office. I work for a global company, interaction with UK staff is actually the minority group. They are ending WFH soon so I'll be more stressed and less flexible.
@DPJHodges He’s gotta look like he’s doing something. He should be speaking to Israel and trying to get them to stop Bombing Lebanon. Far more productive.
Genuine question. What is the Government seeking to actually achieve with its "coalition" to reopen the Strait. Either Iran agrees to free transit, in which case there is no need for a coalition. Or it doesn't. In which case force will be required. Which we have ruled out.
@DPJHodges Yeh but come on. This is probably peak critical point in negotiations before Trump and Israel decimate Iran and the defence secretary is sunning himself up FFS!
II hate these stories. Same goes for the attack on Starmer being away. If the PM and British defence secretary refused to take a holiday until there weren't tensions in the Middle East they'd never take one.
