Most think writing is creative - it's not. At least not when it comes to marketing. When I first started writing, I thought there was some secret to creating incredible ads. I read Cashvertizing and Breakthrough Advertising and realized I was overcomplicating it. But after reading those books I still couldn't apply the simple principles I had just learned. I hadn't developed the skill of simplicity. So I wrote every single day for 2 years straight. At a certain point throughout those first few months I unlocked something. Framework recognition. I would make sure every 2 - 3 lines had a statement or question that would have the reader either nodding their head "YES" or "NO". This helped me cut out fluff. But it went even deeper. At some point after the first year, I discovered formulaic ways to write for specific audiences, demographics, desires and awareness levels. The key, was that they were all Simple, Objective, and Formulaic. And they all stem back to emotional resonance - or how we logically justify emotional decision making in our heads. That's when I really started to make progress with my scriptwriting, advertorials, mini-vsls and paid ads. Stop overcomplicating your writing. Success WILL NOT come from anything except understanding simple human psychology and emotional fundamentals.

I don't run a tight ship with my agency, However, we’re spending $4M/mo of my own cash for clients Here’s my rather unconventional hiring philosophy: I know it’s not the typical approach, but I’m not trying to dominate the world with my company. I want it to be a fun place for my team and me—a place where we can scale at a comfortable, sustainable rate. Sure, I could set strict KPIs and deadlines for growth like many agencies do and fire quickly if someone isn’t aligned with the vision in my head. But that takes the fun out of business. Instead, we work collectively, bringing in our unique ideas and constantly improving on each other. Here’s how we operate: • Media Buyer (myself): I focus on strategy, growth, and campaign launches. • Operations & Tracking Strategizing so everything runs smoothly and we’re hitting our targets. • Creative Team & Creative Strategist: Responsible for mapping out our entire strategy, writing scripts, building ideas, and hiring creators. • Video Editor: Polishes the final cuts and sources content from creators. This was my foundational team at first, and it was all I needed. And the #1 factor that contributes to our creative success? The team doesn’t come from DTC backgrounds. They come from music and art. DTC is new to them, and they’re looking at concepts from a completely different angle—finding things that have never been done before or coming up with ideas like, “This would be cool to test out.” It’s completely against the playbook, I know. But when you’re an innovator, you have to go against the majority perspective. That’s how you stand out and get results.

I very rarely feel stressed. I've always been like this. Since I was a little kid, my mom, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles always mentioned that I was the easiest child they ever had to deal with. I understand pressure, but I don't FEEL the pressure. At a certain point in my life, I even thought that I might have some sort of disorder because I never truly projected stress like other people in my life. If I didn't do well on a test or lost a job, I never felt afraid or came after myself like I was an idiot. My mindset always returned to this idea that, 'If I'm not dead, everything is going to work out. And If I were to die, it wouldn't matter anyway.' And when I think about it, I realize it's because of a few principles of mindset. There are millions of things outside of my control. But the things I can control are my surroundings, my ability to show up and be punctual, my outward and inward energy, my belief and self-respect, my ego and my inner voice, my shadow, my hunger to learn and grow, and overall my attitude.
