Attending the Tri-National meeting @CattleCon Big turnout to discuss collaboration with all 3 countries on USMCA/CUSMA. All agree it benefits all but will it be an easy renegotiation? the feeling is no! @NACattleFeeders @CattleFeedersAB

Traceability has become an integral part of Alberta feedlot operations and is allowing them to make effective animal health and management decisions. #CattleFeeders

Thank you to @ABDanielleSmith for the taking the time to attend our annual MLA dinner in Edmonton. We had some great discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the cattle feeding sector and Alberta’s broader agricultural landscape. Thank you as well to @RjSigurdson and all MLAs who joined us for your time, engagement, and understanding of the vital role our industry plays in Alberta’s economy and rural communities. #CattleFeeders #FeedlotsFeedLots

A scathing letter from the BC Cattlemen's Association to BC Premier David Eby, citing broken promises, secretive negotiations and serious economic repercussions around the government's 'reconciliation' plans. Of particular concern to the BCCA is the BC government's furtive adoption of its Watershed Management Strategy: "This is the same strategy that had been put on hold before the election as it was seen as too controversial. BCCA and other agriculture stakeholders were assured they would have opportunity to provide meaningful input into the strategy. It appears your Government chose to adopt the strategy without public release in an attempt to avoid public backlash similar to that your government faced with the proposed amendments to the Land Act. "This is a troubling pattern of secretive negotiations and agreements that have real and direct impacts on our members and the general public. The economic repercussions and uncertainties are being felt across our province.” The sheer pace of these developments is hard to stay on top of, so it is great to see @BCcattle speaking up. Now it's time for other industry associations to do the same before it's too late. Learn about the work @PublicLandBC is doing to push back on the government's heavy-handed approach to this file: publiclanduse.ca

A productive week on Parliament Hill!
Thanks to MPs, Senators and staff who meet with us to discuss priorities of Canada’s feedlot sector. Wrapped up with @CornwallHeath discussing China. While commitments were not made, doors are starting to open. @NACattleFeeders
