Hanging up the chef's hat: It's been an exhilarating 3+ years leading the @SushiSwap team as Head Chef and Managing Director of @sushi_labs. Today, I'm announcing that I'm stepping down from my leadership role and transitioning into an advisory position (expect an official announcement from Sushi soon). I'm pleased to announce that Synthesis, led by @alexmccurryo, has made a significant capital investment into Sushi to support its long-term growth and operations, and Alex has joined Sushi as Managing Director to lead its next era. Please follow him on X to stay updated on Sushi's happenings. Alex is highly ambitious and has exciting plans for Sushi's roadmap. Over the past three years, my primary goal has been to establish a solid foundation for Sushi, provide operational clarity and direction, and help guide the protocol forward. During my tenure, we weathered a severe regulatory regime and streamlined operations. On the product side, the team built one of the industry's most distributed and performant aggregators, expanded our multi-chain reach by supporting 20+ new network launches, including @katana with Sushi as the core liquidity hub and DEX, launched Blade, a novel AMM product, announced a collaboration with @EkuboProtocol, and much more. Leading Sushi has been a dream role, and I'm proud of what we've accomplished, even though there's so much more work to do. Even though I'm stepping down from my leadership position, I remain committed to providing strategic guidance to Alex and the team. Special thanks to all Sushi team members and co-execs for allowing me the opportunity to lead. Here's to the future and to next adventures.

i fell in love with poker because i had massive imposter syndrome. i moved to LA to pursue songwriting, and found myself in writing sessions every night with artists who could shit out beautiful songs in 10 minutes or less. i felt like a d3 college basketball player playing against the denver nuggets. i couldn't keep up. poker, on the other hand, i was just using to pay the bills. but the more i played, the more objective and concrete the results became. in music? opinion is subjective. ask 10 different people if a song is good, and get 10 different answers. in poker? over a big enough sample size, the numbers don't lie. when someone at the table told me i played a hand bad, or when someone in the comments section would say i was a fish after playing on a live stream, it never bothered me. because i never had the imposter syndrome i had with music. i fell in love with poker because although there's a million ways to get there, "really good" is objective.

The Vatican offers moral witness and America has often borne the burden of protecting the innocent, not the Vatican Swiss Guard. Catholic doctrine explains that peace is the goal, but legitimate defense of the innocent and the common good may sometimes necessitate force when peaceful means fail. Pope Leo should stay out of politics.

For some reason I'm struggling mentally recently. Usually I can control my thoughts and generally be happy and enjoy things. Lately I'm just in a rut. I haven't been enjoying working out. I haven't wanted to do anything during the day or even find enjoyable things to do. I just want to do nothing. Daily tasks seem like they drag on forever and my brain wants nothing to do with them. I don't even know why I'm posting this. Maybe saying it out loud will help me snap out of it. Sometimes your brain just hits a wall and you feel like there's no way out of it; even though you know there is. You know what I mean?

At a minimum, protocol teams can use an LLM to map their OpSec attack surface, identify obvious vulnerabilities, and address clear attack vectors. Should be standard operational due diligence. The minimum, not the goal.

The reality is that local governments taxed $32 billion on property in 2019. Today, that has ballooned to $60 billion. If no relief is enacted, that number is projected to be $84 billion by the beginning of next decade — almost a tripling of the tax revenue in a little more than 10 years. Not sustainable for our homesteaded taxpaying Floridians!
