Has anyone vibe-coded an app that will organize my liked songs into playlists of similar styles? -workout rap/drill -chill electronic/tropical house -work/focus/reading music Spotify's native playlist functions suck and are repetitive imo.

@JaneAFlegal @sierrap Hey @JaneAFlegal, could you please share a source? I'm innovating in this space and would appreciate the data for how many data centers have been told to do this, and how many hours per year they will be asked to "turn off"? Please thank you! 🙏

Gotta be honest: not great that paying data centers to turn off is our plan for grid reliability through 2030. A curtailment payment? Come on. This is bad! We have to stop managing the failure and build the grid we should have built in the first place. What are we doing here?!

@JigarShahDC But many data center developers are using natural gas behind-the-meter. That doesn't count towards the "grid" stats, right? @grok, if my assumption is correct, and if we counted the behind-the-meter gas turbine capacity, what is the balance of capacity being built? @grok?

This chart is wild. Virginia is the world's largest data center market. It currently has DCs consuming >25% of its electricity. By 2030, it could have 39-57%, according to our latest Powering Intelligence analysis. No other state is remotely close.

The impact of humanity continuing to use oil for the next century, which is a foregone conclusion, is unlikely to even be measurable in terms of global radiative flux Innovators like you are best served to promote your solutions on the basis that they actually serve a genuine market need. Not because of spurious climate rhetoric.

My take on the current coding agents: Claude Code is more ergonomic, superior for interactive planning. It also makes so many mistakes, many of them subtle. It fools itself too often. Must use Codex to audit Claude's work. Codex is the superior engineer, but it doesn't have as much "design" sense. I often plan with Claude, give it to Codex to build. Model clarity and speed much improved with 5.4. Handles heavier lifts better with the larger context window. To achieve high confidence in complex analysis, both models need to be used in tandem to audit/inform each other throughout planning, execution, and validation. You can still find the frontier of the models' capabilities, but it's moving farther out rapidly.

It is impossible to overstate the significance of this chart. From nearly zero to: ☑️The world's largest LNG exporter ☑️The largest supplier of LNG to Europe ☑️Enabler of Europe's efforts to rid itself of Russian gas IN LESS THAN A DECADE. 🇺🇸

@mwt2008 Yeah, that all requires a carbon price well above $100/t CO2, w the exception of some electrification.

@mwt2008 But if we could price externalities correctly, somehow that leads to direct air capture, H2, and mass electrification??

If markets really priced externalities, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Fossil fuels dump trillions in unpriced climate and health damage into the public domain — none of that shows up in the market price. And on top of that, the information environment isn’t free or neutral. Vested interests spend billions on disinformation, lobbying, and political capture to block the very policies that would make the market work properly. youtu.be/j8ii9zGFDtc?si… A world of perfect information and perfectly priced externalities simply doesn’t exist.

@mwt2008 Well if it's the cheapest path, why appeal to an emergency? Shouldn't we just let capitalism work?

Yes but that’s exactly the problem. Standard discounting assumes long-run economic growth isn’t materially harmed. That assumption bakes in a world where climate damages stay small enough not to affect GDP trajectories. But the Oxford analysis explicitly models what happens when climate impacts do hit growth, productivity, capital stock, energy prices, and asset risk. Under those conditions, the “normal” discount-rate logic breaks down – because the baseline you’re discounting against no longer exists. In other words: Traditional CBA only looks like “soft science” because it assumes away the hard costs. When you include growth impacts, stranded-asset risk, fossil-fuel volatility, and declining clean-tech costs, decarbonisation isn’t just morally right – it’s the cheapest path.

@mwt2008 CBA's are soft science, unfortunately, especially when you consider the influence of a discount rate at the timescales involved.

If that was the “canned response” she warned about, it says more about her than it does about the facts. She did not become more pragmatic. The science did not change. What changed was her personal story. The evidence is the same one she used to quote when she supported climate action: • more than 99 percent consensus that humans are warming the planet • global CO₂ now at its highest level in more than 3 million years • heat records broken in more than 170 countries in 2023 • climate damages rising every year Switching position after becoming a parent is a personal decision, not a scientific one. The data did not suddenly flip. The physics did not change. And calling evidence “canned” does not make it less true. I am sticking with the science.

@mwt2008 That's the canned response she warned about. She also said she started to change her mind when she became a mother, and she started to think more pragmatically about the implications of her policies.

@Jared_TH2 She has sold out. The crap she comes out with isn’t backed by the evidence. There is a lot of fossil fuel propaganda money sloshing around in the second common of the Trump administration. Banana Republic comes to mind. 🤷🏼‍♂️
