I think too this is easier to swallow than a few years ago signing several bottom six players with no moves because we had zero cap space due to buyouts and a pretty flat cap. Now the future is much more wide open. Plus with rising cap very few players hit UFA.

@JBONAMASSA My cheap version of that is some decent PAF inspired pickups (love Suhr Thornbuckers and Lollar Imperials) with CTS pots and a Switchcraft switch. When I win that lotto money though I’m flying to Nashville to go burst shopping!

@davidwmueller @BradKrysko Same age Rossi put up twice as many goals far more points and much better on draws while not playing with Kaprizov. The only thing Yurov is better at is height. IMO Rossi is a top six center with PPG+ ceiling while Yurov is a third line winger with 40-50 point ceiling.

@JarickL @BradKrysko I don't agree that Rossi is a lot better than Yurov. If I could take one of them, I'd take Yurov. But one could make a good argument either way. Yurov broke a scoring record in the KHL for a player his age. There's a lot more offense coming. Good two-way 2C eventually IMO.

There is not one player in here that I would even remotely consider to be a centrepiece in a Dylan Larkin trade.
Not a shot at Michael or Joe, they laid it out very well, just a testament to how weak Minnesota’s pipeline is after unloading Buium and Rossi to Vancouver.

@davidwmueller @BradKrysko Rossi >>> Yurov, Stramel > Ohgren, no Zeev obviously. But Larkin is nowhere near the caliber of player as Hughes and is also several years older. I think Detroit will ask far too much of a very good but not elite player honestly.

@BradKrysko Yurov is roughly equivalent in value to Rossi. I'd rather have Yurov long-term IMO. Stramel is roughly equivalent to Ohgren -they were similarly rated prospects on the Athletic list.
There is no Buium because Larkin is not Quinn Hughes, but the Wild would prob add another player
