UPDATE on referendum lawsuits: The Tazewell Circuit Court just ruled the referendum unconstitutional. The Judge entered an injunction blocking certification of the election & denied a motion to stay pending appeal. A final order will be entered once drafted, & it will be immediately appealed

I don’t know how this isn’t unconstitutional under the VA constitution. Article XII says “it shall be the duty of the General Assembly to submit such proposed amendment or amendments to the voters…”
The amendment has not been submitted to the voters. This is not the amendment

Here’s why I voted 🛑NO🛑 in today’s special election in Virginia:
1. “Trust us, it’s temporary” has never ended well. Or ended at all.
2. The amendment reads like it was written at 11:59 PM. It literally gaslights voters from the ballot.
3. If we already have a redistricting process, maybe… use it.
