@CoachJeffLeach Cool, there is also numerous 12u kids that throw 70mph and as HS seniors throw 74mph. Blanket statements both ways are dumb.

The best player in my area at 12u is a HS senior. Not yet committed to college. Some judge his level of development based on that, which is out of his control. In the 1st round of the HS playoffs this weekend he was intentionally walked 3x in 1 game. He's still a dude.

Conversation with the home plate umpire tonight: Situation, I’m having my guy bunt with two strikes. I want him to get the bunt down he needs experience doing it. Misses the bunt, hits off the catchers glove, hits umpire, goes to backstop. Batter advances to first runner to second. Other coach challenges saying he foul tipped it. Home plate said no he didn’t, but goes to ask the other umpire who is next to second base anyway. Overturned, ump at second said he did tip it, he heard it. First off BS… no chance… just a call to get the out and move the game, I’m not arguing or asking him because it’s so crazy I’m just not going to deal with it. If you know you know. My issue is with home plate. Now, at no point am I arguing or yelling, it’s all just a conversation. I don’t embarrass him or anything. I tell him, you told me you had it, why even defer to the other umpire you’re right there. He goes “he asked me to ask him and I’m going to go with what he calls.” I go, you’re right there…just tell him I got the call. I then say very nicely, “hey man, I don’t know how long you have been doing this, but not everybody is gonna be as nice as me. In a close game or bigger game somebody’s gonna jump down your throat because you’re supposed to make this call, especially when you tell me you have it.” Again, very casual conversation…. But you have to make that call… you’re behind the plate you’re asking someone 100 feet away…

@Challenger_ST 100% agree, if you are a junior and you aren't near those numbers you posted, then you have no business going to a showcase. But, a late blooming Freshman or Soph that has skill but undersized can advertise the training they've put in with numbers backing they have more growth

@JasonAndrew1421 Firstly let me say Thank you for saying you love my stuff but I have ZERO problem if you disagree with me and love getting new perspectives I get what you mean about getting in the system, just think it can be better to have something to actually showcase at times

HS Baseball players & parents… Please STOP waste money on a showcases unless 2 of the following are true: (Save this to reference these metrics) 1. You throw 84+ mph from infield/outfield 2. You throw 70+ mph from behind the plate 3. You throw 85+ mph (RHP) 4. You throw 82+ mph (LHP) 5. You run a sub 7.0 60 yard dash 6. Your hitting exit velo is 90+ mph 7. You play or will expect to play varsity in the coming season If you don’t do these things, it’s a WASTE until you develop more!

@Challenger_ST Absolutely nothing, but, just like trainers, not every coach is great or communicates with college recruiters. If you have a coach that is documenting, developing, communicating, etc. Great. Love your stuff, just feel their is more to it than showcases are awful

@Challenger_ST I don't disagree and some places are money grabs, but you also unfortunately need to be in the system to show the training you've put in. Dad's pocket radar readings aren't exactly reliable sources for improvement to colleges Not all 88mph are equal.

@RellDMC Hubert's adjustment was to take out Veesaar because he had 4 fouls. Which allowed UNC to stop constantly playing drop coverage on ball screens and get picked apart. STOP PLAYING DROP COVERAGE HUBERT

We've been harsh on this team and coaching staff. So, credit where it's due. A massive, massive win.

@DaPozCast But they both had the same amount of time to prepare. Pitt-Houston winner will have one less day to recover and prepare than New England. And it’s not necessary.

NFL playoff scheduling is not fair. It might produce good ratings but it’s not fair. This late in the season recovery time is crucial and it is not given equally. Rams & Bears played Saturday games. They will face each other on Sunday with an extra day of rest. 49ers played on Sunday and will face Seattle on Saturday-short week of recovery. Why? In the AFC the Bills will have to travel to Denver on a short week. Why? Because there’s a Monday night AFC Wild Card game. The Texans play Pittsburgh. The winner will automatically have a short week and travel to New England. Why? Several years ago the league did away with Monday Night games in Week 18 of the regular season because it created a disadvantage if one of those teams made the playoffs. Now we create that disadvantage. The Wild Card round should be 3 games on Saturday and 3 games on Sunday. Then try to schedule the Divisional games so the teams have equal rest. Don’t force San Francisco, Buffalo and Houston or Pittsburgh to play the most important game of their season on a short week just for TV ratings. That is not fair!

The Eagles have put Grant Calcaterra on the field for like a half dozen Barkley runs already. All that does is invite more Raiders defenders into the box, and he doesn't block anyone. Been the case all season long. It's insane that they keeping running that shit.
