Bought OTD in 1970: it was cheap. Top class psychedelia before I’d taken drugs. A 1967 pinnacle- still sounds fresh 56 years later. The constant becoming of change returns success

It's Johnny's birthday. He's still one of the most original artists to emerge in the talent-loaded age of Aquarius. Folk, jazz, blues and ... something else. His Echoplex work was groundbreaking. Lifted wholesale by The Edge and David Gilmour and taken to platinum status. HBJM x

Super lunch at #lacosmo today. The brioche mushroom mixto was heavenly, gonna have to try the version with comte now. Next a superbly balanced tartare, and then the navajas, which were a little over, tho it is a tough job to cook them right on a josper. Fantastic sauce however.

8) A Factory In The Desert. I just liked the mental image and set about explaining it. "Dream up, dream up, let me fill your cup" is from Neil Young's Harvest. It wasn't cool to like NY in the 80s but I didn't care. I always tend to go in the opposite direction to everyone else
