2/28 - A few strong to marginally severe thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening, primarily around the Lake Okeechobee region and Southeast Florida.

Smoke is reducing visibility to near zero along Alligator Alley this afternoon from the National Wildfire in Collier county. Use extreme caution between MM 76 and MM 80. Southerly winds will continue to push smoke across the highway the rest of the day. #FLwx

WOW! The NWS Weather Prediction Center analyzed the blizzard in the NE as having the low pressure equivalent to that of a Cat 2 hurricane! Obviously they're very different types of storms, but you get the idea how strong this system is!

The rainfall winner this morning was Punta Gorda with about 1”. Unfortunately, this was an outlier with most of the Gulf Coast only picking up a quarter to a tenth of an inch 🌧️ @GCNNow

4 AM: Here is a snapshot of low temperatures since midnight. Coldest temp so far this morning was 24 in Palmdale up in Glades County! In the metro, we're solidly in the 30's again this morning. With still a few hours to go, temps may still drop a few more degrees. 🥶
