@ToxAndTofu @ALiEMteam @fzaver @UCalgaryEM I would agree that doses used vary by provider, with no trials large enough to guide dosing decisions. After having some patients refuse anti-psychotics or list haloperidol as an allergy due to prior EPS, I have moved to lower doses and titrating to effect.

Somehow they manage to make the pharmacy's keflex taste like vanilla, while hospital keflex is stuck tasting like chalk. Seems like this should be a high priority QI project... #MedTwitter

Why are we still comparing drugs to placebo when there are many evidence based therapeutic options that could be considered standard or care? Tylenol is also superior to placebo in RCTs and has a much more favourable side effect profile.

Haldol for Treatment of Benign HA in the ED via @spoonfedEM journalfeed.org/article-a-day/… #FOAMed -RCT of 118 pts -2.5mg IV haldol vs placebo -Average 4.77 point reduction in VAS at 60 min vs 1.87 point reduction in placebo -58.6% in haldol group had complete resolution of headache
