This is what AI thought I looked like at Nvidia GTC 2026 this week in San Jose. 😆

Here for this, if it happens. The 3 apps are too much. And combining these 3 would provide an advantage versus both Anthropic and Perplexity.

OpenAI plans to unify ChatGPT, Codex, and its browser into a desktop "superapp" to simplify the user experience and focus on engineering and business customers (@berber_jin1 / Wall Street Journal) wsj.com/tech/openai-pl… #a260319p54" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">techmeme.com/260319/p54#a26

Everyone says they’re building a world model. Very few actually are. Most AI learns to see the world. A world model learns to predict what happens in it — specifically, what happens when people do things. That’s a different problem. Seeing is passive. Consequences require understanding cause and effect Any AI can learn to read a scene. A world model learns INTUITION about what changes it. @gen_intuition
Pim de Witte@PimDeWitte

Packy and I spent the past month unpacking world models from first principles. This piece is the result of that exploration. We go into why, what, how, and look out into the future on the implications of our work.

Trust in any new technology requires transparency. Our latest safety data from over 170M miles—about 200 human lifetimes of driving—shows 13x fewer crashes with serious injuries compared to human drivers. I’m proud of our team's commitment to this important work and the evidence that shows we are improving road safety in the cities in which we operate.✨
Waymo@Waymo

Our new safety data is in 📈 Over 170M miles through Dec 2025, the Waymo Driver was involved in 13x fewer serious injury or worse crashes than human drivers in those same cities. At our current scale, that means preventing a serious injury crash every 8 days—a real, positive impact on road safety. Learn more: waymo.com/safety/impact/

@reflection_ai CEO Misha Laskin at GTC in a panel on open models: “There's a flourishing ecosystem of powerful, closed models, but equally capable open models that are becoming more advanced in the next couple of years and I think that's that's really exciting.”

At Nvidia GTC, some of the CEOs of the hottest AI companies are on stage together talking about open models. The fact that it’s such a big stage topic at a major conference in the AI industry is a great sign for bottom-up innovation. Panel: Jensen Huang, @hwchase17, @miramurati, @AravSrinivas, @mntruell, @MishaLaskin

Tomorrow we will unveil the all new vibe coding experience in @GoogleAIStudio, the team has spent 4 months rebuilding it all from scratch and smoothing out rough edges to help everyone bring their ideas to life. This is a big step forward, but just the start : )

SOOO excited to share this research. It has been many months in the making, and it’s the largest and certainly the most multilingual qualitative study that we think has ever been run!?
Anthropic@AnthropicAI

We invited Claude users to share how they use AI, what they dream it could make possible, and what they fear it might do. Nearly 81,000 people responded in one week—the largest qualitative study of its kind. Read more: anthropic.com/features/81k-i…

I want to share a bit more about my vision for the Economic Research team at Anthropic in the coming years. This is a forward-looking vision. Some pieces we’ve yet to develop. Aspects of this work will surely change. Consider joining the effort. 1/6 #heading=h.j1ij8p6h22u5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/document/d/1OM…

Friends don't let friends let AI agents run rampant on their local device :) That's why we integrated with @Docker. Every agent gets its own container, its own filesystem, its own session history. Invisible to every other agent running alongside it. Thank you @TheDeepView!

Jensen: "@OpenClaw is a one line install and then you go and tell it what you'd like to become." He encouraged everyone to go try it, and mentioned the company's new NemoClaw stack that adds privacy and controls. (This was in the press Q&A at @NVIDIAGTC) OpenClaw just hit the broader consciousness in late January. Since then it's become the project with the most @GitHub stars of all time and now it's become one of the hottest topics at the biggest AI event of the year less than 2 months later. That's a pretty insane trajectory. Clearly, the claw agent movement is spreading far beyond just one product.

When asked what AI should NOT do, @Nvidia's Jensen Huang leaned against AI doomer-ism: "Warning people is one thing, scaring people is another... There's a difference between warning and scaring." I would like to see more of the leaders in the AI space have the courage to speak up on this question. Jensen is an amazing storyteller and is always on message as a speaker. But in this instance in a press Q&A at GTC he evaded the question about mass surveillance and autonomous weapons and the potential negative outcomes of AI to fire a shot at doomers. This was a missed opportunity. He admitted he has personal opinions on these topics but didn't share them. If this isn't the place to do it, I hope he'll step up and share them at another time because leadership and clarity are badly needed right now. And he has great capacity for both. There could be a future where the hardware and chips encode the laws, guidelines, and principles governing AI since people will be able to find ways around the guardrails in the models. So Nvidia (and other chipmakers) are very likely to have an important part to play in the safety conversation.

AI's first event of 2026 is here and The Deep View is on the ground at Nvidia GTC. Here are my 3 big questions: 1.) Will robots get more real this year? 2.) Is Nvidia becoming an open model company? 3.) How will Nvidia tackle the AI inference problem? thedeepview.com/articles/nvidi…
