Due to equipment damage, Coast Starlight Train 14, which departed Los Angeles (LAX) on 10/1, is canceled between San Luis Obispo (SLO) and Seattle (SEA). Customers will be returned to their points of origin via bus transportation. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

@PacSurfliners The conductor asked me to call customer service for a refund, and of course, customer service told me they couldn’t help me. Ironically, I booked today’s trip with a travel voucher from the last time Amtrak failed.

@AmtrakAlerts This makes no sense because what’s the difference of between Seattle/Portland & Spokane and between Spokane and Chicago in terms of equipment? I thought the same exact equipment is used for the entire route
