Hi @thetrainline. Quick question — your online copy say there is no booking fee when booking on day of travel, yet when trying to book a single via the app for today, the app is adding a £3.29 booking fee. Can you clarify the policy?

@JakeMGrumbach Probably. But 3 serious questions: 1) given how much is spent, is there any marginal effect of the next million or even 10 million? 2) where are there actual gains from spending (media, GOTV)? 3) how much is consultant grifting (how much of next million actually buys anything)?

I feel like I’ve been seeing posts lately that say “the basic spatial model doesn’t work/apply anymore.” These results throw some needed cold water on that assertion. People are more inclined to support candidates that push for the policies they prefer!

Not a ton I can add to this already great and timely analysis from @dbroockman and @j_kalla (and the @Blueprint_2024 research cited at end of thread). The standard Dem issues are pretty popular — Democrats have won the popular vote in 7 of the last 8 presidential elections!

Sadly I had a guest professorship cut short at Gothenburg due to the pandemic. That said, I was there enough to learn it is as vibrant department filled with truly wonderful people. Highly recommend!!!

Do we genuinely need anonymous peer review for journals? Is that better than an editor/editorial team/editorial board simply making quicker decisions on manuscripts? Are we really getting a sufficiently positive return on the resources (time) allocated to peer review?
