@strager I have heard airlines say this the more correct way, which sparked my thought process around this.

@JasonSpafford I thought they say "now boarding groups 1 through 3" on the intercom (for example).

UX that only serves experienced users is a failure. This is almost always the case with most transit UX. 3/3

How to avoid FTC requirements for email spamming. Get your lawyers to update your privacy policy once per month so you can send an email to every customer without any way to unsubscribe from privacy policy update emails. You'll be at the top of every customers inbox. 👌

@shaun_vids @ThatOwlDev That is a generic argument that could apply to all automation. I don’t find this has any value. Obviously technical craftsmanship can exist side by side with automation, and masters of craft can inform automation techniques.

@m_ou_se @rust_foundation Are you implying engineers should not help the crypto community reduce their energy usage? I very much disagree with that. Also, which part of cryptography is a ponzi scheme? Parametric curves? Decentralized algorithms? Zero knowledge proof protocols?

Your company should be opt into email, not opt out. If you're an IC on your team and your PM suggests this to you, you need to tell them they are making the internet worse for everyone.

Listen here PMs. You’re only doing this for career progression so you can point at “increased engagement” to pretend you're adding value to your company because actually improving your product in some way is harder than writing up a new spam email that no one will read anyway.

Small rant about Silicon Valley. Product Managers across Silicon Valley have collectively ruined email as a technology for everyone.
