Did Christian defenders of large-scale non-Christian immigration into Australia ever imagine that Australia, an historically very Christian country, would have to undergo the humiliation ritual of begging Muslim-heavy districts to kindly acknowledge Christian holidays? I’ll bet they didn’t. But if they were wise they would have.

Credit to @JohnRuddick2 for his stance during the toughest of times. This period was the biggest infringement on the Freedoms which make for a good society and the worst numerical outcomes since WW2 - over 60 times the harms over benefit according to the best CBAs to date.

Six years ago today we were just about to go into the first lockdown. Tried to warn against the insanity 👇 World not the same since COVID …but everyday more can see through the lies of the same class that lied about COVIDism.

I was born in Iran and I went to school there and I had a family member tortured there and we were in contact with our family members who are still there whom we love very much and who have a wide variety of political thoughts, but they want the Islamic Republic gone. And I grew up with the stories of my parents and my grandparents about the Islamic Republic. You’re ignoring all of these stories and promoting Islamic imperialism at the cost of the majority of people whose human rights have been violated there for the past 47 years. Your pretending that I don’t know anything about Iran and was never there is ridiculous.
Sunil Kumar@SunilKumarAus

You live in America. Most likely your parents fed you the picture of Iran as they saw it. It does not mean that the Iranians who stayed back are bad people. You see them from westerners’ eyes. I don’t trust anything westerners say about Iran.

“You can't abandon the concept of normality, or societies will just completely fall apart,” says developmental psychologist and social science scholar @JDHaltigan There has been a tremendous push in mental health to destigmatize mental illness, he says, and people are encouraged to regard themselves as “some sort of heroic person for having [mental] disorders.” This is true especially for mood disorders like depression and anxiety. People nowadays increasingly define themselves through mood disorders—especially women, who often are more prone than men to depression and internalization of anxiety, he says. Haltigan’s departure from the University of Toronto in 2023 coincided with his growing concerns about what he described as increasing ideological pressures in academic research and restrictions on what researchers could say about mental health and early child development.

@DrJMarine Given the loose definitions used for "dying with" covid and the constant stream of wildly inaccurate models, this is just peak idiocy. Next, it will be deaths due to covid being more than excess mortality or, even better, more than the total number of deaths.

✅The @nytimes corrects the record After a turbulent week, the record has been corrected. And for the vaccine-injured, it may mark a turning point. Thank you @SherylNYT LINK 👇

@JamesLNuzzo I have read and reread it and still can't work out the punchline to this Monty Python skit.

"Social work as a profession is frequently misunderstood, or negatively misrepresented, partly due to the (on-going) legacies of colonization and complicity in enacting the destructive policies forming the Stolen Generations" "I argue that social work in Australia is uniquely placed to influence disaster governance, climate justice policy, and supported community outcomes..."

The godfather of leftist catastrophism, Paul Ehrlich, has died. Ehrlich's book The Population Bomb (1968) predicted that humans would soon deplete the Earth's resources, leading to huge famines and disasters. It didn't happen. Ironically Ehrlich lived to the ripe old age of 93.

🚨 Premier Minns now has the laws in place for police to start door knocking citizens over social media posts. 40 people a day are getting door knocked in the UK. My hunch is it's about to start in NSW. Here are some guidelines of what to do if the cops come for you. (*Disclaimer - this is not legal advice etc). @LibertariansNSW

Pleased to share the program of our upcoming conference “Care, Control, and Biopolitics: Reckoning with the Covid Governance”, which will take place at the University of Graz on 28–30 April 2026. The meeting will bring together scholars from different disciplines to reflect on how the Covid era reshaped governance, public debate, and the relationship between care and control in contemporary societies. I am particularly delighted that @toby00green will deliver the keynote lecture. As is well known here on Twitter, Toby has been instrumental in opening serious historical and intellectual debate about the wider significance of the pandemic, not least through his pioneering work on Covid as a world-historical crisis. Toby is also convening a major conference at the British Academy in London this July, which continues and expands this emerging conversation from another perspective – so I am pleased to share that program, too! 😊 murielblaive.substack.com/p/program-of-g…
