According to a new New York Times survey, 22% of Democrats say they "have not heard of" Socialism! Another 10% either "don't know/refused" to answer. So up to 1/3rd of Dems might not have any idea of what socialism is, let alone understand it. Srsly? These guys are voting to decide the direction of the country? nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Why is government at any level funding this? Two New York Democrats running in a hotly contested congressional primary pledged federal funding for “Drag Story Hour” — as records show city and state taxpayers have paid nearly $700,000 to boost the program nypost.com/2026/05/26/us-…

FDR also made the depression longer and worse. The “Depression in the Depression,” the huge spike in unemployment in 1937 & 38 was clearly caused by FDR trying to punish the banks and raising the required reserves they had. He also made the US much poorer and slowed economic growth over the decades after he was in office.

I have dealt many times with the homicide rates in the two countries. That survey data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the US Bureau of Justice Statistics doesn't deal with homicides. BTW, homicides make up 0.25% of total violent crime in the US and 0.039% of total violent crime in Australia. For an example of discussing homicides in the two countries. crimeresearch.org/2026/01/austra… BTW, as you will see in that post, the latest homicide rate is a little less than twice as high in the US as Australia.

🚨BREAKING: Military Police involved in shooting at Fort Hood! Is this another teen takeover gone really bad? Check out the video to see and hear the chaos. According to local news outlets like KWTX: - large brawl broke out at the recreation area, which is located on Fort Hood (post) property in Texas. -Military police (MPs) responded to break up the fight. -Multiple rounds were fired during the confrontation. -Video obtained by KWTX shows people running away, with an off-camera voice yelling “They shot him! Oh my God! They shot him!” An MP is seen pursuing individuals into a parking lot and firing several rounds at one person (it is unclear if that individual was hit). -Cars were heard speeding away from the scene. -There are reports of multiple injured individuals arriving at a Temple-area hospital. Authorities were working to confirm whether those injuries were connected to the BLORA shooting. -Officials stated there is no active threat at this time, and investigations are underway.

We uncovered something far bigger than I ever expected. After seeing coordinated false attacks against the Utah data center project, we brought in an advanced data science team to trace where the content was coming from and the results were shocking. What we found led back to organized networks, political activist groups, and funding trails tied to massive international entities. We dug through IRS 990 filings, tracked IP data from around the world, and uncovered what appears to be a coordinated campaign targeting energy and data center projects across multiple regions. I shared 90 pages of evidence with federal law enforcement and raised concerns directly with contacts at the White House. This isn’t speculation. The filings, funding records, dates, and connections are documented. There’s a coordinated PR war happening around energy infrastructure and data centers, and we’re not going to ignore it.

@grok @Grok, are there any consequences of higher CO2 levels that Gore got correct in his predictions?

**Some directionally correct long-term trends:** CO2 levels rose as projected (now ~430 ppm); global temperatures have warmed ~0.8–1°C since 2006; Arctic sea ice has declined significantly; and many mountain glaciers worldwide continue retreating, consistent with warming. **Specific predictions that missed on timing/scale:** - No snow on Mt. Kilimanjaro within ~10 years (by ~2016): Snow and glaciers remain. - Glacier National Park ice-free within 15 years (~2021): Glaciers still present. - Near-term 20-ft sea level rise flooding cities: Actual rise ~3–4 mm/year; ~1 ft projected by 2100 from current rates. - Polar bears drowning in significant numbers: Overall population has grown substantially since the 1970s (hunting ban main factor); some subpopulations stressed but not the mass drowning portrayed. - Strong trend of more intense/frequent hurricanes from warming: No clear detected increase in global landfalls or overall activity matching the film's emphasis. The film captured core physics but accelerated some timelines and visuals for impact. Data from IPCC reports, NSIDC, and glacier monitoring confirm this mixed record.

Gas stations in California are finally fighting back. You would think that Californians would already know their high gas prices has nothing to do with the gas companies just being greedier in California when it is the same companies across the whole US.

**More people in Europe die from the cold than from the heat.** A major 2024 study (baseline 1991–2020) estimates ~364,000 cold-related deaths annually across Europe vs. ~44,000 heat-related ones—a ratio of about 8.3 to 1. Heat deaths are rising with warming summers, but cold still dominates by a wide margin.

**Several specific short-term predictions in the 2006 film didn't materialize on schedule:** - No more snow on Mt. Kilimanjaro within a decade (by ~2016): Snow and glaciers remain there in 2026, though reduced overall. - Glacier National Park becoming "the park formerly known as Glacier" within 15 years (~2021): Glaciers are still present (retreating but estimates now point to much later dates like 2100). - 75% chance of ice-free North Pole summers in 5–7 years: Arctic sea ice has declined significantly but not disappeared in summer. The film got the basic mechanism right (rising CO2 from fossil fuels driving warming, with many glaciers worldwide retreating and some extreme weather trends worsening). CO2 levels are on a similar trajectory to what was projected (~430 ppm now). Some timelines and visuals (like near-term 20-ft sea level flooding) were accelerated for impact.
