Scientists have created one of the most detailed 3D reconstructions of a human cell (eukaryotic cell) ever produced. This groundbreaking model, often termed a "Cellular Landscape Cross-Section Through a Eukaryotic Cell," combines data from X-ray tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and cryo-electron microscopy to map molecular structures in extreme detail.

In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth. That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon. Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites. Visible to the naked eye. Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory. A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation. That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

Opinion in USA Today: "If fighting climate change is your thing, Elon Musk is your friend ‒ no matter what you think of his politics or personal life; The whole “frak the 1%” tempest is a distraction used to manipulate the masses by politicians who want their votes and activists who want their money. What really matters is what the rich contribute to society through their work, just like the rest of us. And Musk has given us electric vehicles that are among the world’s best, space exploration that is pushing the boundaries of where we can go and how we’ll get there, satellite internet that defies dictators and empowers the impoverished, and cutting-edge artificial intelligence that may deliver wonders that transform how we live and work. Not bad for a troll. I can’t help but admire the companies he’s launched and the innovations he’s driven. If you have never had the privilege of watching a SpaceX rocket take off and land at Cape Canaveral, then get yourself to Florida. It’s an amazing sight. Another of Musk’s wonders, Starlink, delivers high-speed internet access around the globe, including in places where rampant poverty or government oppression used to make online connections difficult. And Tesla, despite liberals’ dirty looks, is still the most successful electric carmaker in the nation with the world’s largest economy. The progressive boycott of Tesla always seemed shortsighted to me for that reason."

this is actually insane > be tech guy in australia > adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live > not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4 > pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA > feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold > zero background in biology > identify mutated proteins, match them to drug targets > design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch > genomics professor is “gobsmacked” that some puppy lover did this on his own > need ethics approval to administer it > red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine > 3 months, finally approved > drive 10 hours to get rosie her first injection > tumor halves > coat gets glossy again > dog is alive and happy > professor: “if we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?” one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline. we are going to cure so many diseases. I dont think people realize how good things are going to get

@farzyness We are Tesla damily for years and paid 12k for hw3 model y back in 2020; I drive a model 3 hw4 and pay monthly for l fsd. We believed in Tesla’s mission. We finally upgraded the hw3 model y to the new truck trim before its change in policy, where is “Loyalty deserves loyalty”

Tesla unfortunately screwed the pooch on this one. I understand why from a business perspective, but the execution will leave a bad taste in the mouth of loyal (and new) customers. Learning lesson.

UPDATE: Last night, Tesla changed its FSD transfer policy (pic on left). You now have to take delivery by March 31, 2026 to be eligible. For people who placed an order before this policy change, including Cybertruck dual-motor AWD order holders: • If your delivery window is on or before March 31, 2026, or it gets pushed into April due to a delay caused by Tesla, the company will still honor FSD transfer. • Tesla will NOT honor FSD transfer if the initial delivery window was after March 31, 2026 when the order was placed. • If your order window is beyond March 31, 2026 or you end up not being able to take delivery by March 31, 2026, Tesla will offer you a refund of your $250 order fee. Before, Tesla's website said: "customers who place an order for a new Tesla vehicle by March 31, 2026 may qualify for transferring FSD (Supervised)." Not anymore. While Tesla always said directly on their FSD transfer website page that the "FSD transfer program is subject to change or end at any time," I’d still like to see Tesla give all $60k Cybertruck AWD orders made before last night’s policy change the option for FSD transfer at time of delivery. Many people placed an order because they thought they would be able to transfer FSD. I’ve deleted the post I made a couple days ago (pic on right) about Cybertruck AWD FSD transfers to avoid anyone seeing that post, but not this update, and mistakenly placing an order. While I did link to the terms page in the thread, I should have added in my first post Tesla’s exact disclaimer wording from the FSD transfer page: “The FSD (Supervised) Transfer Program is subject to change or end at any time." I’m really bummed out for the people who already ordered the $60k Cybertruck and wanted to transfer FSD, even though Tesla is offering order fee refunds. Keep in mind, Tesla can always decide to change the terms on this stuff at any time. People can reach out to any Tesla sales advisor with any questions. They will confirm this info. Hey @Tesla @elonmusk Look we get you can’t offer FSD transfer forever and honestly terrible business to do so. However why can’t you just let everyone who put in an order for a $60k @cybertruck get the FSD transfer? It was only a special 10 day event anyway. The people using FSD transfer for this are loyal customers and minuscule in the grand scheme of FSD. Just do what’s right here.
ΛI DRIVR@AIDRIVR

@wholemars I think the problem here is Tesla not living up to the transfer terms if they’d have said “can’t transfer after X date” this wouldn’t be a problem at all
