Today’s authors aren’t problematic enough. Mary Shelley fought with Leigh Hunt for possession of her late husband’s disembodied heart. Caroline Lamb stabbed herself with a broken wine glass & then mailed a lock of her pubic hair to Byron. Rufus Griswold dug up his wife’s body and spent 30 hours kissing it. Living writers are dull by comparison.

Horror is misunderstood ,it's much more than gore and Jumpscares. It's emotion under pressure , grief, guilt ,paranoia, loneliness ,survival, obsession, etc. Some of the most creative cinematography, sound design ,practical effects ,& story telling choices happen in horror

honestly i'm this close to quitting reading for good. every single author i actually love turns out to be problematic or worse. i'm so tired of finding out after i already got attached. feels like i can't enjoy anything anymore without a background check first
