Excited to announce @fliptexts’ $1.4M pre-seed, and that we’ve joined @a16z @speedrun! When @notolegv, @ajiang_xyz and I started building in January, we were stunned at how outdated money apps still are. So we built the finance-expert friend we always wished we had: one that fits you, earns its place, grows into the job, and lives just one text away. My financial life doesn’t look like anyone else’s. I’ve managed six figures for a school club, spent my formative years trading crypto, and I’m still too shy to ask my roommates to pay me back for WiFi. Flip starts by automating my monthly roommate bill, checking my wallets before I think to, nudging me to use my Dunkin credit before my Amex benefits expire, making sure my retirement accounts are stable, watching my cloud bills, scanning to see if my Netflix membership is *really* worth it, and finding discounts on late night food delivery. I just left @xai It was not an easy decision. The past three months were an absolute blast - I've been in many trenches in my life and can say this was by far one of the most intense warzones. I love fighting. Especially being in the trenches with my friends, working on problems that will actually advance humanity. But the current environment wasn't serving my growth. And that's a really hard thing to admit - I've always looked up to Elon, and I genuinely believe xAI will win. I still do. One thing I'll say: don't stay somewhere just because of the name. If you're unhappy, and you know you can't grow 100x where you are - it's the right call to leave. What's next? Get some sleep back. Then find the next trench worth fighting in. I'll always be meeting exceptional people - that was never because of a recruiting title. I just love finding smart people and helping however I can. Many more side quests to come!!!

Just hosted a private deeptech dinner in NYC with @velocityeleven + @645ventures. The room was filled with founders building across BCIs, neuromorphic computing, defense, and bio, and as a whole, working at the edge of what’s physically possible. As the conversation unfolded, a common set of constraints kept coming up: signal fidelity, scale, regulation, data. What stood out most, though, wasn’t technical. We wanted to share a question from the conversation here: “What’s your dream beyond what you’re building?”

last week's @velocityeleven x @rre consumer dinner went far longer than planned @namivworld and I hosted builders spanning the full spectrum of consumer. I took part in two debates that took over the table: → the gap between a good product and a winning product? the winning one goes and finds its user. not the other way around. the founders in this room get that. → health tech keeps building better dashboards for the body. but we don't even understand consciousness yet. we're measuring what we can, not what matters.
