@Wattenberger Hi @Wattenberger , I tried to access this article today but got a "Not found" error, is there any other way to access it? Started reading it when it was published but wanted to read it more carefully now. Thanks!

it was lovely chatting with Ryan and team, really interesting to see how my thoughts have changed (and not changed) over the last year!
Ryan Mather@Flomerboy

🆕 Interview with the one and only @Wattenberger You know her for her beautiful and thoughtful blog posts like "Why chatbots are not the future". My favorite quote from our interview is Amelia's way of describing chat-only tools - "it's like nailing jelly to a tree." 💀

Es más: al final de un cuali bien hecho, tu mente queda configurada de una manera distinta. No solo has articulado tus hallazgos: eres más sabio de una manera difícil de articular. Como decía no sé quién: está bien leer un informe sobre a qué sabe el helado...

Most product teams focus on delivering features; New pieces of functionality which extend the capabilities of the product. They do this in part because they believe that a lack of features is the primary reason why people don't use the product.

@adamsilverhq Why not ask users what they want? It’s a perfectly reasonable thing to do. Use what they say as part of your evidence and decision-making, not necessarily all of it. Think about who you’re asking, who is responding, and who is excluded. Do more listening than asking.

Atención a este proyecto de @BjoernKarmann: una cámara que geolocaliza el lugar de la foto y se lo describe a un modelo de IA que produce la foto. No la que habrías hecho con una cámara tradicional sino la foto ideal que te encanta subir a IG. #BallardianTimes
Bjørn Karmann@BjoernKarmann

Introducing – Paragraphica! 📡📷 A camera that takes photos using location data. It describes the place you are at and then converts it into an AI-generated "photo". See more here: bjoernkarmann.dk/project/paragr… or try to take your own photo here: paragraphica.bjoernkarmann.dk

Designers understandably believe that the quality (and usability) of a product is vital to business success. Marketers believe that finding customers and driving traffic to the product is a more important predictor of success. Annoyingly the marketers are usually right.

In cultures of arrogance, people get rewarded for expressing certainty and conviction. The most confident speaker claims the most status. In cultures of humility, people are applauded for admitting ignorance and asking questions. The most complex thinker earns the most respect.

"Aprendimos a vivir con" el tifus creando normas sanitarias permanentes, no decidiendo que perder a un niño o dos era un pequeño precio que pagar por la libertad de cocinar con los dedos sucios de caca
Janel Comeau 🍁@VeryBadLlama

we “learned to live with” typhoid by creating permanent sanitation regulations, not by deciding that losing a kid or two was a small price to pay for the freedom to cook with dirty poop-fingers

Once upon a Time, someone, perhaps Andy Grove, perhaps Peter drucker, came up with a very simple idea. What if we told people what result we wanted and trusted them to figure out how to make that result happen.

Success is not checking a box. Success is having an impact. If you complete all tasks and nothing ever gets better, that's not success.

@berkun Biggest design lesson? That the vast majority / most consequential part of the user experience often depends on decisions made by people without “design” in their job titles. Influencing those decisions is how you maximize your impact.
