@alixonmartinez2 Yup. I started hitting with wood bat off pitching machine, it’s crazy different from metal. Look at a guy like benintendi, had lots of power in college and is just happy to slash .700 in the bigs.

It is sad that now, even at the collegiate level, great hitters are being undermined because they don’t have many HRs.. A guy hitting about 350. With 15 2B and only 1 HR gets way less attention than a guy hitting 260. With 8 HR and 10 2B Same amount of RBI’s … First guy got way more Runs scored…. CRAZY!!

@LoganStout @NCAA The coaches were the worst. Cutting kids / taking scholarships away because they can’t play a game up to the coaches standards. I agree that the transferring is out of hand but let’s not place the blame on 18-22 year olds. The adults created the system.

We’ve reached the point where now people have forgotten that these players were valued for 100+ years before analytics took over baseball front offices. With so many teams choosing offense over defense this was inevitably going to happen. Glad to see the pendulum swinging back to sanity.

One day, without realizing it, you played your last game of baseball. Last bus ride. Last bullpen. Last time putting on the uniform. Last time hearing cleats on pavement walking into the stadium. That’s why the people who truly love this game never really leave it. We coach it. We work in it. We watch it. We reminisce about it. We miss it. Because baseball gave us pieces of ourselves we’ll spend the rest of our lives trying to hold onto. Favorite baseball memory in the comments 👇⚾️
