Someone is selling Bitcoin at exactly 5:00 AM UTC every Tuesday for 11 weeks now. Every Tuesday at exactly 5:00 AM UTC, the 1 hour candle closes red. The probability of this happening by a random chance is 0.049%. That is 1 in 2,048. I ranked all 168 hourly slots in the entire week. Every single hour on every single day. Tuesday 5AM UTC is the most bearish hour out of all 168. It is the only hour+day combination with a red rate above 80%. Over the last 6 months, 23 out of 27 Tuesdays were red at this hour and over the last 3 months, 13 out of 14 Tuesdays were red at the same exact hour. The pattern did not exist before October 2025 and over the full 8 year dataset, this hour is a coin flip. 50/50. It switched on the exact week BTC topped at $126K and has not missed since.

CANCEL your weekend plans. You NEED to: • Install OpenClaw • Deploy 417 agents (minimum viable consciousness) • Try and find your girlfriend’s GStack • Assign 38 agents to monitor new AI tools • Assign 62 agents to read AI newsletters you bookmarked • Assign 14 agents to watch YouTube explainers at 1.75x speed • Assign 9 agents to summarise those summaries • Assign 3 agents to argue about the summaries • Beg your wife to take you back You have way too much to do.

dude computers are actually so fucking insane when you really think about it. we literally figured out how to write some fake-ass rules called code and somehow convinced rocks to follow them. like actual rocks. sand, melted, purified, carved into tiny pathways where electricity just flows in patterns. that’s it. that’s the whole magic. and yet from that we get operating systems, compilers, kernels, networks, distributed systems, machine learning models, entire virtual worlds running inside other virtual worlds. billions of tiny electrical decisions per second, all because we defined some abstract logic. humans basically invented a language of instructions and taught matter itself to execute it.

Everyone is watching the oil, not the water. Kuwait gets 90% of its drinking water from desalination plants. Oman 86%. Saudi Arabia 70%. There is no aquifer, no river, no rainfall. The entire Arabian Peninsula drinks water that is manufactured from the sea. One drone. One plant. Millions without water. That is not speculation. A 2009 US diplomatic cable concluded: Destroy the desalination infrastructure and you could force the evacuation of the Saudi capital within a week. Iran has not hit desalination plants yet. That restraint is a choice. It's also a card. Iran's navy is gone. Its air force is degraded. Its Supreme Leader is dead. Its missile rate has dropped 70%. Every conventional military option is being systematically closed. What remains is asymmetric warfare against infrastructure that the entire Gulf coalition cannot function without. You do not need to win an air war to win an asymmetric war. You need to hit the thing your enemy cannot replace on any timeline that matters. Oil can be rerouted. Gas can be replaced. Water in the Arabian desert cannot be improvised. The GCC has built redundancies since this vulnerability was identified. But redundancies are not immunity. And Iran knows exactly where every plant sits. The oil war is being priced. The water war has not even entered the model yet. If it does, this conflict has a second act that makes the first one look contained.

Apple have just released a research paper saying that AI doesn't think. No it doesn't, there is no AI to it. All it does is feed information put into it through a bunch of algorithms and spit out what is basically the result of a complex search engine. It's almost useless.

If you are a software engineer "experiencing some degree of mental health crisis", now hear this, because I've been coding for 50 years since the days of punched cards and I have a salutary kick in your ass to deliver. Get over yourself. Every previous "programming is obsolete" panic has been a bust, and this one's going to be too. The fundamental problem of mismatch between the intentions in human minds and the specifications that a computer can interpret hasn't gone away just because now you can do a lot of your programming in natural language to an LLM. Systems are still complicated. This shit is still difficult. The need for people who specialize in bridging that gap isn't going to go away. As usual, the answer is: upskill yourself and adapt. If a crusty old fart like me can do it, you can too.
Tom Dale@tomdale

I don't know why this week became the tipping point, but nearly every software engineer I've talked to is experiencing some degree of mental health crisis.

Neuroscientist study reveals that Gen Z has become the first generation to be less intelligent than its predecessor, the Millennials. For the first time in 100 years, young people are scoring lower than their parents on IQ tests and core skills like memory, reading, and focus. This is happening mainly in the US and Europe. The main cause appears to be excessive screen time and digital device use, particularly in schools and social settings. While some suggest Gen Z is just developing different skills, research shows actual declines in fundamental problem-solving abilities.
